I discovered this little battlefield park while on a walk with my boyfriend. Having only lived in the area for two weeks, I didn't know this was down the street. The park itself is small, quaint even, but the informational plaques were helpful, if but a bit sad. There are photographs of what the area looked like (along with maps) when the battle took place. Now you look around and only see developments.

The pathway is decent and wheel chair accessible (if but a bit bumpy) and there's a small parking lot.
The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Annex (aka Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center) showcases over 200 aircraft and 152 large space artifacts. Some of its famous exhibits include the Space Shuttle Discovery, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft, a Air France Concorde supersonic airliner, and the Enola Gay, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress which dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.
This is the Shuttle Discovery which now resides for all to see at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy museum near Dulles Airport. An overflow museum of the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, this magnificent museum showcases some of the more historical and experimental aircraft that have taken to the skies. This includes the SR-71 Blackbird, the Enola Gay and an Air France Concorde.

It's about a 30 minute drive from DC, and has enough to look at to keep you busy for several hours. Highly recommended for the aviation buffs, young and old.
