was dark when I got here so can not comment on exterior. I like staying here, rooms are always clean, bed and pillows are comfortable and that is what I care about. I can park a couple feet from my room door to unload an load vehicle which is very helpful for me as I have bad knees.

Welcome to State College, Pennsylvania! It probably doesn't shock you to learn that this is a king among college towns. Safe, pleasant, and pretty, with multitudes of restaurants, cafes, and shops, they don't call the hometown of Penn State University "Happy Valley" for nothing. Book your State College flights into University Park Airport (SCE), just seven miles from downtown. This is a small airport with limited service, but with connections to major hubs like Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Detroit, it's quite easy for travelers from around the country to get here.
Transportation from SCE
There isn't much in the way of hotels right around the airport, but you can find dozens of cheap State College hotels encircling the Penn State campus just a short drive away. Travelers arriving on flights to State College can easily rent a car from one of the agencies right in the terminal and pick it up on-site. For a small airport, SCE gets a lot of traffic, so it might be wise to reserve a vehicle in advance. If you prefer not to bother with the responsibilities of car rental, many local hotels offer shuttles, and you can also hail a taxi at the curbside. Once you've dropped your bags off at the hotel, explore State College. Wander the paths of the Penn State campus and enjoy the beauty of its Arboretum. Sate your aesthetic cravings at the Palmer Museum of Art, or view wildlife from the boardwalk of the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. Later, catch a Nittany Lions game at Beaver Stadium.
