Departing Twyford A Paddington to Oxford stopping service departs Twyford station, visible in the background on the left. On the right, the allotments beside the railway line are visible and beyond them the houses on Hurst Road. The slow lines here were still constructed of wooden sleepers and bullhead rails in 1978, though they have sebsequently been relaid and the trailing crossover in the foreground removed. The rail in the extreme foreground is of the more modern flat bottomed type and the difference in depth of the two types of rail is evident just left of centre where they are joined by a fishplate.

Sheeplands Farm - Strawberry Fields Forever. A field full of strawberries between Ruscombe and Wargrave. At the time the picture was taken, the first few early berries were just reaching delicious ripeness. Mmmm!
Stanlake Park. The estate dates back to the sixteenth century. Part of it is currently devoted to wine production, apparently with some success. Some of the product is sold at Reading Farmers Market.
