Beginning staff was excellent. Desk member Mehia, could not be bothered. One word answers, cutting you off, and seemed to be angry you are even speaking to her. 75% of our group are smokers. No where on the listing did it say that it was a NON SMOKING PROPERTY. Having to leave and go out by the parking lot was not what was expected. Having security approach and tell us to leave, when vaping and weed is being smoked by others around the pool area. understood that smoking in the rooms and inside the facility is not allowed, we are outside on a beach. Away from others. We would not have booked this location if known.

The location is great but the property is poorly maintain , most of the lounge chairs were stain and fabric broken, staff would be pressure cleaning the area with clorox while the guest were around not to safe, they did not leave the water in the room as is expected you will have to go down to the lobby and wait the line to get the water, our room was not done the first day and not clean towels on that day, I definitely expected more form a Hyat Hotel

Misleading Photos & Poor Experience – Would Give 0 Stars If I Could I stayed at Hotel Caribe in San Juan, Puerto Rico over Easter break and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. We arrived around midnight and were met with unwelcoming, visibly irritated staff—no greeting, no hospitality. Once we got to the room, things only got worse. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been shampooed in years and everything was covered in dust. The lobby wasn’t any better—dirty windows, at least one out-of-order bathroom stall, and an overall feeling of neglect. The pool tiles had black patches that looked like mold, which made us not even want to get in. The biggest letdown was the beach area. The sun pad in the photos looked amazing online, but in reality, it was torn up and unusable. Total disappointment. The photos online are completely misleading and do not reflect the true state of this property. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

We loved everything about the Hotel Caribe. It was clean, there were several dining options, and the staff was friendly. It was a few miles walking into San Juan but it was very doable. Ubers were readily available. I can't wait to go back!

Loved the location with beach and pools. Easy fast Uber to old San juan. Liked the balcony. Loved the local authentic PR Cafes next door, pretty much on the property. Did not like that the rooms were in need of updating. The bathtub did not drain well, bathtub was chipped and scratched, and the door on the fridge cabinet was broken.

The fact that security was at ever corner made me feel safe!!! Hot tubs was freezing, our ceiling in our room was leaking and nothing was done about it. Hot water only worked in bathrooms… everything was expensive..

Overall has a great stay but I just felt like they need to work on maintaining the property. Everything looked like it was worn out. My only other issue was that they charge extra for everything! Asking for a late check out - 50 bucks, buying was $8.50 for a regular sir bottle, $3 for ever bag checked in after you have checked out. Like cut people some slack.

Waited 31/2 hours for lunch. Waiting for drink refills. Trash on the beach. Inadequate amount of staff to handle the amount of guests. Starbucks ran out of iced coffee after standing in a line for 30 minutes no sign was put up so you could get out of line. Hot tub was not working properly, cold and dirty. Housekeeping was excellent in the room. Staff working extremely hard and doing the job of 2-3 people. Beach server couldn’t even take a break. I am a nurse and on vacation with my family. I was very concerned that the staff were unable to take appropriate food and water breaks. The staff looked stressed and in return, made me feel stressed because I do care about others. Food was mediocre and WAY overpriced. I have traveled the world and have stayed in multiple Hilton properties. By far, this was THE worst. Never again.
