I only stayed at this property for about ten minutes before leaving and getting a refund. The A/C was not just broken, it was also spewing hot air so that the inside of the room was at least 90-100 degrees. When I told the staff, they told me to turn off the fan and open a window. The windows were stuck and also had evidence of mold. When I returned to the front desk, someone else was there complaining about possible bedbugs. And to top it all off, I had to call three times to get refunded because there was an additional charge that I did not authorize from this property. Oh, and the guy at the front desk was just goofing around chatting with a friend of his. Stay away!

DECLARATION OF DOUGLAS JACKSON IN SUPPORT OF CLAIM ARISING FROM UNINHABITABLE ROOM CONDITIONS (Motel 6 – Downtown San Diego) I, Douglas Jackson, declare as follows: 1. I am an adult individual with personal knowledge of the facts stated in this declaration. If called as a witness, I could and would testify competently to the matters set forth herein. 2. On or about January 3–4, 2026, I was a paying guest at a Motel 6 property located in downtown San Diego, California (the “Property”). 3. During my overnight stay, I was assigned a guest room at the Property and occupied that room for the night. ⸻ Uninhabitable Conditions Observed 4. During the night and early morning hours of my stay, I experienced a persistent and intrusive mechanical noise originating from the HVAC ventilation area located immediately above the entrance door of my room. 5. The noise included: • Continuous mechanical operation after I physically turned the air conditioning system off at the in-room control terminal, and • Repeated clicking or cycling sounds, which sounded similar to an ignition or pilot-like mechanical process occurring within the ventilation system. 6. The noise was loud, irregular, and anxiety-inducing, and persisted for an extended period of time. 7. staff was friendly however overall condition of the motel was disgusting. the elevator had a spill that was never cleaned and just dried up overnight. the hallway carpets are disgustingly dirty and need to be replaced. the room we got had black mold in the bathroom and window of the room. the bed was awful.

I had an easy stay here, the staff were lovely and helpful. My room was clean however there was no room service or turn down service. So same towels and bed for my entire stay. The thermostat in the room was functional but broken. Amenities were lacking, be aware that there is no iron, ironing board or hair dryer. There is also no safe for passport or valuables.
