Cool tech hotel, but tech is half baked ☹️

Hotel and rooms are nice and spacious by NYC standard. Staff are friendly and helpful—so a big thank you to them! And the Sonder hotel concept using technology is and interesting one. HOWEVER the technology is half baked! We stayed at the Sonder Battery Park NY for almost 10 days and needed guest support to come open our room door pretty much every day. The phone App to open the door only worked once!!! Horrible…

Nice place mismanaged

Check in was terrible. They need to ditch the app and go back to key cards. My bag was stolen and management was not helpful. The place itself was very nice and the rooftop lounge and pool were wonderful. Housekeeping ignored do not disturb sign on door twice.

The room, building, and rooftop area areas were spectacular. My only complaint was that the rug in our room was soaking wet when we got there. Apparently the cleaning staff spilled water on the rug and left the room. When I let the front desk know their solution was just let it dry. I found that irritating because we had a wet rug for 2 1/2 days.

This was a nice hotel and they don’t charge ridiculous resort fees. The rooms were big and it was very convenient having a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, etc. The kids loved the rooftop pool. The only things we didn’t really like was that there was no dresser in the room so we lived out of our suitcases. It was also annoying punching in a code every time we needed to use the elevator but I understand it helps to keep the building safe and secure. This was definitely the nicer Sonders hotel I’ve stayed in.

We pay for a night and reserved a king size bed and a sofa bed, upon arrival and without explaining the situation they give us a full bed bedroom with a sofa bed and it was a handicapped accommodation. Not what we paid for, bedside that the service was excellent as well the facilities
