Great place

because it is a historical hotel in the 1800s I was inclined to book it. To look at the architecture and how it was built. They've done a wonderful job remodeling it and it used to be the life magazine building in the early 1900s. The rooms are now updated clean delicious beds marble sink and floors gold hardware. Everything is very nicely done. The hotel is also close to everything on Broadway, sixth Avenue, fifth Avenue

Good value

This hidden gem is a few blocks from MSG and about 20 minutes walking to Times Square. The reception is in the back of a restaurant and one of two ancient elevators take you to a surprisingly modern, clean, elegant, and spacious room. A good value.

My girlfriend and I went for a week and it was the perfect stay for our itinerary. It’s in the dead center of New York in Korea town making everything such as grand central, time square, chelsea, east village and more very close and easy to walk to/get to. The staff, Chris especially, was super helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself is very well decorated, clean, and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be returning with our next visit to NYC.

The staff was amazing! Cleaning staff was awesome and super on top of things. The only issue is we were not able to sleep through the night any night we were there. The pipes banged so loud, it was tough. The bed was super comfortable though so I’d recommend ear plugs.

Chris at the front desk was exceptionally kind and helpful. He is the most outstanding employee at the hotel. He went above and beyond. When I called to say my train might be delayed due to storm on the east coast altering my check in time he was so understanding, and offered me an upgraded room knowing it was potentially a challenging commuting day for me. He also made sure I had a quiet room away from the elevators so I could work and sleep soundly before a big work day. It was a cold night and when I requested extra bedding he included slippers and a robe for me to be delivered to my room, while I was out dining locally which by the way had a ton of attractive options. All this to say as a solo traveler I felt really welcomed and cared for here. The only things missing a bit were the breakfast and restaurant options which I am told will be upgraded in March. The hotel is older so if you are into that sort of thing in terms of finishes and layout you will appreciate that. I appreciated the quiet here very much and the room size as compared to other local hotels.
