I want to be careful in reviewing this property. I understand it is a much older building and is family owned, therefore standards and procedures may not necessarily be stringent. The location of the property is great- perfect walking distance to the center area where most the Ocean Blvd attractions and eateries are. The staff was polite and caring. The in-room facilities is where my stay fell short. The dust in the room was caked on- to the curtains, window seals, tv, lamps, and nightstand... as though it had many months, or even years since dusting. Dead flies were on the window seal. Hair strands and sand particles left on the walls and in the floor of the shower. And the toilet was not functioning- due to a leak out the back of the tank. I did address the toilet issue with the front desk on the first, but yet the problem persisted. A more detailed inspection of the rooms should be done before renting out to patrons. The property has tons of great potential that quickly declines due to the lack of cleanliness detail.

It was okay

It was okay really sketchy. When My husband me and my son got there there was crumbs on the bed. Refund took forever pretty much had to beg and plead with them. But one lady was really sweet and understanding. Can’t remember her name to save my life.

Parking area was small. My buddy that traveled with us got his car hit in the parking lot. Awesome person actually left their info. Thank you for being honest. The tv wouldn’t turn on. Front desk gave me new batteries for the remote. It cut on but no channel worked. Didn’t spend much time in the room, so staff wasn’t able to fix this issue. Also the WiFi, you could connect to it, but no internet service. Staff said we may need to power off our phones and then power them back on for it to work. Even tried with a laptop. No luck. Then the somewhat updated room had seen better days. On one site, this hotel advertised ocean front. One site said ocean view. When I got there, you can see the ocean from the room. But it wasn’t ocean front. Same as the beds, one site said two queen beds. One said two double beds. My room had two double beds.

This place was DISGUSTING! Not only was it absolutely disgusting and dirty, we had to wait a while to even be able to check in bc no one was at the property. Once we checked out they changed us for a hole in the wall that was there. Called us liars and hung up on us multiple times. Whatever you do, ignore any good review you read and DO NOT stay there! You’d be better off popping a tent on skid row!

Last minute (GREAT) find!

Pro: Great location. Great customer service at check-in. Con: No extra roll of toilet paper in bathroom; just the less than half roll left in holder. The only toiletries in bathroom were 2 bars of soap. No shampoo nor conditioner in room. The toilet had not been scrubbed after last guest.

The lady at the front was very nice and professional. The beds were clean and no bugs. However, the floors were dirty. Even my dark colored socks looked grimy after walking on the floor. Also the ice machine didn’t work either. The bedroom smelled like cigarettes. The small pool was dirty. You could see hair and other things floating in the water. The bigger pool was fine.

After having a horrible experience The Gazebo Inn I switched hotels and the lady at the front desk Cookie was so understanding and sweet best customer service ever she did anything she could to try to make up for what the other hotels horrible customer service we will definitely be back

Here’s the positive side of things: 1). We booked the property in the morning and were able to check in before check in time 2). The receptionist and maintenance man were kind and friendly. And then this: 1). The floor wasn’t swept in the room because there was sand all over it 2). Although there was a kitchenette, there was no dish detergent nor sponge etc. with a sign saying to clean your own dishes or they would charge $50.00 to your card. I wouldn’t have left dishes for them to clean anyway, but I should not have been made to purchase dish soap etc. 3). There was old blood stains on one of the 2 dbl beds in the room. We slept (or attempted to) on top of the covers on the second bed. Luckily we had a blanket in the car 4). We couldn’t sleep during the night because the people next to us were so loud, the man was outside arguing with someone on his phone back and forth all night. 5). Although the sign on the door after office closed, no one was there to answer the phone number that was left on the sign. With that being said… We had told the maintenance guy (because the receptionist was not there at the time the office was supposed to open) about the guests next to us. Not sure if he could do anything about it or would the manager (whoever that was) do. The reviews on here absolutely must be fake or something. And what cottage is there??? we definitely didn’t see that And… there was no housekeeper on a weekend apparently as we were told.

The front desk girl was awesome, sadly she was the only perk to the place.. I felt unsafe, after dusk we went back to the room and locked the doors, no joke!! We only ended up staying 1 night when we had an entire week reserved!! Didn’t get our money back, but it taught me to read the reviews and trust what they say a little more than I did!!
