"The location of this hotel is excellent, at first sight it appears fantastic but it is a little tired. The member of staff who greeted us was a little abrupt which took me a little bit by surprise, when I asked about and whether I needed to book she said yes, but there isn’t many slots left. That felt a little odd as our room included breakfast, we did book breakfast, she then asked if we had stayed before, we hadn’t, so she explained about how to get to the spa. Our room was a little tired but clean and large. The shower/water in this hotel is extremely hot so I would say be a bit careful. In the morning we went down to breakfast, it was buffet style and ok, plenty of seating. The staff were lovely and friendly, couldn’t be more helpful. The spa is basic but nice if you want a quick swim, sauna and steam, then perfect. Overall an ok stay for the money we paid for the centre of Chester."

"There was dust on the fan in the bathroom, but other than that the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was great with a good selection and everything being checked for refills regularly. The staff were great, friendly and helpful from check in, the bar to breakfast. We didn’t use the spa or swimming pool. Would stay here again."

"Beautiful setting with good parking. Mattress was far too firm and unfortunately ruined what was otherwise a nice peaceful nights sleep. On check out the staff advised that they would have provided extra bedding had we contacted them. So perhaps any subsequent stay would be more comfortable. "

"Fast check in on arrival. Friendly staff. We stayed in a Queen room bed and breakfast. On entering The room was cosy and tidy. Black hair on top of the duvet. Linen did look clean and fresh though. Bathroom tidy some black on grout by the shower. Apart from that was a decent room. Breakfast plenty of choice with helpful staff. Would give it a 8 out of 10. Great location for all local amenities."

"Great location right next to the station and an easy walk into the city centre. The ground floor has been nicely refurbished and makes a good first impression. Some investment has clearly gone into the rooms too (new taps etc.), but they don’t feel finished to the same standard. The bathroom in particular felt a little tired – the silicone around the shower was messy and old, the toilet didn’t flush easily, and the extractor fan was very loud. Overall a good stay in a great location, but the rooms could benefit from a bit more attention to detail."

"£10 per person per day to use spa so didnt bother. Would have liked it to be included."
