1. When I checked in and tried to use the glass cup, I found that liquid soap had accumulated at the bottom, causing the water to become all foamy. 2. When I requested a replacement cup, they brought a paper cup. I told them I needed a glass cup, but they refused, saying, "It's nighttime, and there are no staff available to bring one." After that, no new glass cup was provided in my room until I checked out. 3. An unwanted wake-up call came at 5:50 AM, waking me up. 4. Despite having a "Privacy Please" sign on the door, I was woken up by the loud voices of housekeeping staff cleaning the neighboring room. 5. The air conditioning barely worked, and the room was cold. Even when I set the temperature to 86°F, only cool air blew. A technician came, but the issue wasn't fixed. 6. the towel was carelessly placed on the rack after cleaning the room. 7. I discovered that someone else's meal charges had been applied to my room after checking my statement. 8. Although the Urban Resort Fee of $15 was supposed to be applicable toward meals, this offset was not applied. 9. The response from the woman at the front desk when I pointed out the billing error was the worst. I was disillusioned by the service, which was not what I would expect from a luxury hotel, and I decided that I will never stay at a Fairmont hotel again.

The $25 urban experience fee is a rip off!!! And they charge you every day. They give you credits for things, but it wasn’t things I needed. So I paid $50 on top of the daily rate.

The hotel itself was beautiful. The first two nights it was 77 in Chicago and they would not turn the air conditioner on because “they weren’t expecting warm weather.” So sleeping with no covers and sweating after spending quite a bit of money to stay here was very disappointing. That was a huge problem for me.
