The Point Brisbane Hotel
The buffet breakfast was not free, I paid extra $35 per person, the on-site restaurant was very expensive and the food was average, the staff were lovely ,helpful and friendly, our room was on the 8th floor overlooking Ipswich road ,and it was too noisy to sit on the balcony,

Birkdale Hotel & Travel Guide
For those wanderers who find themselves trekking around in Brisbane and decide on doing a stint in Birkdale, there are a small number of hotels and apartments. With 9 hotels, apartments and other accommodation options on Travelocity within a 6-mile (10-kilometer) sweep of the CBD district and surrounds of Birkdale, it should be easy to find something suitable.
Check out a few hotel options located within a short drive of Birkdale's urban center, including the Manly Harbour Backpackers and The Manly Hotel, Brisbane.
The Emporium Hotel is around 11 miles (18 kilometers) from the center of Birkdale. Alternatively, the Spicers Balfour Hotel is 11 miles (17 kilometers) away. You might like to take a room at the Brisbane Riverview Hotel or the Brisbane Marriott Hotel.
