Cape Cod Beaches

Do you think of glimmering beaches with unspoiled natural views when you think of Cape Cod? If you don't, start now...

There's no better place to spend a dreamy beach vacation than on Cape Cod. Not only can you choose from over 500 miles of coastline, but the area is home to some of the top beaches in the country. And they're just waiting for you to come and explore.

Whether you dream of lounging on an inner tube floating out to sea or sipping a cocktail under an umbrella, Cape Cod's beaches provide the perfect place to leave all your worries behind. Real life? What's that?

Go on a deep-sea fishing excursion to try your hand at catching your own meal, or enjoy a packed lunch on the shore (just try not to put the "sand" in your "sandwich").

We've put the spotlight on three Cape Cod beaches to get you started:

First Encounter Beach in Eastham

  • Whether it's your first encounter with First Encounter Beach or your twentieth, you'll fall in love with the soft sand between your toes.
  • Let the kids dig for crabs and go on a seashell hunt while you take in beautiful views of sandbars and tidal flats.
  • Head to the south of First Encounter and you'll be at the mouth of Herring River. Stay late to witness some incredible sunsets

Race Point Beach in Provincetown

  • Voted one of the Top 25 beaches in the country, Race Point Beach is a Cape Cod must-see.
  • Ready for a bit of whale watching? Look toward the horizon from the shore and there's a good chance you'll spot some of these majestic creatures breaching the waters.
  • Rent a bike to explore the area on two wheels. Dedicated bike paths between the dunes make sure you're not huffing and puffing through the sand too much.

Chapoquoit "Chappy" Beach in Falmouth

  • Need a bit of isolation to maintain your sanity during your family vacation? No judgment here. Chappy Beach is waiting for you with open arms.
  • Stunning sunsets are easy to come by on this westward-facing beach. Stake out a spot in advance and get ready for a very colorful show.
  • Windsurfers will find that the offshore winds create the perfect conditions to ride the waves.
