"Close to Hollywood Blvd attractions"
My experience was pleasant, pretty cool staff and quiet. My room was large enough for two people. It had a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and dining set. The furniture and carpet however was outdated and so was the tub. The location of the hotel is great, walking distance to major attractions in Hollywood Blvd.....walk of fame, Chinese Theatre, wax museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Lucky Strike bowling, OHM nightclub, Capitol Records, tour buses, Metro train station, plenty of restaurants and shops. Free continental breakfast, free parking, free wifi were my necessities.

"The "magic" of Magic Castle!"
I simply cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The staff are the best that I have EVER encountered... and I travel quite a bit on business. An associate has been telling me about this place for quite a while and I finally booked myself into this incredible Hollywood hotel for 8 fantastic days while there on business. I simply WILL NOT stay anywhere else in Hollywood from this moment on. Period. They made me feel so welcomed, so special, so... happy to be there. Thank you to everyone at this very special hotel, especially... Gretchen, Lisa, Nick, and Gabi. I definitely WILL be back. Kudos to all. Keep up the excellent work!

"Solid Hotel Stay"
This hotel is right off the freeway and is easy to locate, parking was $20 a day, but was fairly easy and since it's a small hotel, it was easy access to the lobby. Exterior is posh and modern. As you walk inside you are greeted by young friendly staff and we're all very helpful. The elevator is old, but works fine. The hallways were dark and smelled like lavender of some sort, probably coming from the spa on the second floor. We stayed on the 3rd floor, facing the road. The bed was comfy, but I noticed what looks like an oil stain on my sheet. Not a big deal, we just took it out. They provide make up removers and little toiletries. The shower was very nice and the rooms looks recently renovated. The furniture scan use some refurbishing, but it was only a two night stay so it didn't matter. There's a microwave, fridge, TV, coffee maker in the living room area. Lastly, they have happy hour from 5-7p that we didn't get to enjoy coz we were on the go, but it's a nice addition for the guest. All in all, it's a solid food 3 -4 star hotel and will recommend it. I'll stay here again.

"Good value, generally clean but...."
Good value and generally clean but renovations are not yet complete. Pool was small and closed by order of the Health Dept. Common areas were unfinished, no ice machine or vending machine on 3rd floor, just an empty, unfinished room. Room had a fresh coat of paint on the walls but the no base mouldings on the walls and duct tape threshold from the transition of the new hallway carpet to the old room carpet. Bathroom door wouldn't fully close. Bed seemed new and linens were fresh and comfortable. Minimal closet space and no chairs in the room. Wifi connection was difficult

Universal City Hotel & Travel Guide

Not every film studio can lay claim to its own zip code, but Universal Studios – the owner and centerpiece of 415-acre Universal City in California – has exactly that: zip code 91608. The "city" contains Universal's studio, sets, and back lots; a theme park; and a shopping and entertainment center. There are even a couple of hotels in Universal City, so it's easy to imagine that flights to Los Angeles – which surrounds Universal City – really are transporting you to a distant land of magic and wonder.

Out and About in Universal City

There are three main attractions in Universal City: the studio's theme park, with its thrill rides and shows; the actual film studio, sets, and back lots; and Universal CityWalk. CityWalk houses an eclectic selection of stores, bars, and nightclubs with everything from live music to theater acts, and indoor skydiving. Vacation packages to Universal City will get you to your hotel, where you can ask about perks like early admission to theme park attractions. As long as you're staying in Universal City, you can get around just fine without a rental car: There's a Metro stop right on the edge of the city limits. If the cheap hotels in Universal City are all full, you can access others just a stop or two away on the metro.

    Eating and Drinking

Universal City hotels put you within a quick, easy walk of almost 30 restaurants, ranging from fast food chains and pub-style food to Brazilian and Latin cuisine. Of course, there are a few Hollywood-themed restaurants as well. If you're looking for drinks, the Universal City nightlife is all outsized Hollywood glamour, with rocking live music, mechanical bull rides, and drinks as big as your head. Don't forget the all-important VIP membership, too – after all, this is Hollywood.

Download the Travelocity mobile app and book your Universal City hotels today. Our mobile app gives you access to exclusive travel deals that you won't find anywhere else.
