Great Location!

Pros: Location, location location! And the very competent and hospitable staff!
Cons: Softer beds and improved plumbing to staunch the stench.
Location: Lots and lots of restaurants and shopping, and very close proximity to the Shinjuku Station. I enjoyed the autumn leaves at nearby Shinjuku Park.
We stayed an enjoyable week at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel in late November. Its location puts you minutes away from the main train station, restaurants and shopping. It even houses an in house shopping mall comprising its first eight stories, as well as access to the Subnade underground shopping mall and passageway that connects the hotel to the Shinjuku Station. The restaurants in the Subnade were excellent! We reserved the three beds room that met our needs and gave us a great view of Godzilla rampaging through the Kabukicho district across the street. The only negative points are the hard mattresses and a stench that wafted up from the drain in the bathroom. Other than that, we highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again!

Nice Hotel

There is nothing to complain about this hotel, all I can say is definitely will be back when I go there. Beautiful hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku. The service is absolutely the best.

Convenient and Interesting Location

Location: Close to Subway, Restaurants, Shops, and Kabukicho (Japan's Red Light District)
The Prince Shinjuku was conveniently located by two subway stations, the busiest being Shinjuku station. There were loads of shops and places to eat in all directions of the hotel. The rooms were decent sized and the staff spoke good English. The area was much busier than I expected but the noise was never a problem. The only thing I did not like was how close it was to Kabukicho, Japan's Red Light District. I did not feel very safe just a couple blocks over from the hotel. Luckily Kabukicho is not on the way to either subway station.

Close to everything

Close to shopping around Shinjuku (Takashimaya, Keio, Lumina, Odakyu), JR trains and Tokyo metro. many restaurants nearby. Just wasnt happy with cigarette smell of all rooms.

Great hotel in a great location

This hotel was perfect and in a great location. The room was a little small and the bathroom was tiny. I would definitely recommend upgrading from the standard room. Although the room was small, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The concierge was great, they tried their best to accommodate us, but there was a slight language barrier. Sometimes they just didn't understand what we needed or were looking for. The hotel is close to the train station, so transportation to and from the airport was easy and stress free. There are a lot of local restaurants and shops nearby and since the train station is only a 5 minute walk you can easily go to other areas pretty quickly. The only drawback is not everyone speaks English since it's not as big a tourist area as other parts of Tokyo. But that also worked in our favor since the prices at the nearby restaurants and shops were pretty reasonable since it was not a big tourist area. It was great to experience the local culture. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay in Shinjuku

Pros: Close restaurants, amazing views
Cons: No free Internet
I've stayed at this hotel twice on trips to Tokyo, and can definitely recommend it. While the rooms are typical business hotel-size, they are still very comfortable. For a small fee, you can upgrade to a slightly larger single room on a higher floor. I definitely recommend this option because the view of the city (especially at night) is amazing. The rooms also have a small safe for valuables (big enough for a laptop). Not really an issue in Japan, but it gives me a little more piece of mind. The staff is great - though I find their English is a bit more limited than other hotels I've stayed at. It's located directly above the Seibu Shinjuku Station, with easy access to the rest of Shinjuku station via Subnade (if the weather is not nice and you don't want to make the 5 minute walk to JR station outdoors). Note: If you do take the NEX Express into Shinjuku it is a good 10 minute walk from the platform - something to be aware of if you have a lot of luggage. Only drawbacks are that you have to pay for the Internet connection in your room. While the lobby Wi-Fi is free, I kind of feel the in-room Internet should also be covered. They also turn off the AC option in the rooms during the Winter. While this won't be an issue for most people, I like my rooms very cold. I fully recommend this hotel and will look to stay here again in the future.

Great Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Good Service, Great View, Next to just about everything. Rooms are small but very nice. Train station is 5 min walk away. Many stores right in the hotel, including 100 yen store. Friendly staff, very nice. Very clean. Overall a great hotel for the price

Great Place

Very modern decor in all of the rooms. Reasonable price. Optimal location. Small, but comfortable room. My only suggestion to other travelers would be to request a Western facing room vice an Eastern facing room to reduce the noise from the loud and boisterous Shinjuku streets, especially if you're on a lower floor (10 and up).

A great value!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
A great location, friendly, professional staff, a clean room. For myself, it is just fine. But just to be aware that the room I stayed was very small. Nothing funcy, but it is a functional and very pleasant hotel. If that is what you need, I highly recommend it.

This hotel is always on my list of possible choices

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
This is a good hotel, but it is not always possible to find a good price. If you have stayed in the Shinjuku area, then you know hotel prices can be steep, and the value mediocre. The Prince is part of a chain of hotels in Japan, and this one in Shinjuku is one of their better ones. It can be either a great value, or a mediocre value depending on the price you find. The hotel is comfortable and clean, and far enough from Shinjuku stn to be quiet, and out of the bustle. For some that is a plus, and for others that is a minus. Either way, the stn is a short walk away, and so if you enjoy mixing with a bustling crowd until 2a, you will not need to walk far. I visit Japan 3-4 times a year, and if I'm going to be in Shinjuku, I always check the availability and price of this hotel as one of my first choices.
