Langley Castle Hotel
Breakfast felt rushed (all items brought to the table at the same time). Staff were pleasant. Furniture and decor in the room looking a little tired. Beautiful surrounding area. Castle and grounds are lovely, quiet and relaxing.

Delta Hotels by Marriott Newcastle Gateshead
Negatives: Very dated and unclean room. Split drink all down the side of the bed which hadn’t been cleaned and bottle/food under the bed. Was also a noise buzzing constantly all evening, I had to turn the air conditioning on to drown it out. Queen size bed in room was very uncomfortable. Very bad ...

Maldron Hotel Newcastle
Only a 10 min walk from the train station. Easy to find. Good sized rooms and clean. Bed a bit small, soft and sunk to the middle but fine for one night. Great breakfast.

The Vermont Hotel Newcastle
Avoid 10th floor or anything with a quayside view if you enjoy sleeping as the noise from the roof bar is extremely loud. There is no warning when you book. We had to move rooms as a result. Staff were nice and pleasant
