It has been well redecorated, beds comfortable, it was also quiet. There are still bits of the hotel looking tired, the bathroom tiles, doors etc are an example. However it was spotless and sparkling. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It ticked all the boxes we needed for a nights stay. Definitely felt it was good value for the price we paid and for short stays I would stay there again. We like the location being near the river and within easy walking distance of the town and there is plenty of parking.

Just OLD

This hotel is very dated. No outlets by the bedside or around the room other than a pod on the desk, poor/no AC. Offered a fan. Windows don't open and room very stuffy. No chocolate on offer in the hotel. It was suggested I walk to the next hotel in the rain to buy some chocolate from their machine. Facilities very old and not kept up with the other hotels in the area/country. ONLY reason I stayed was the parking and next time will go to the Premiere inn next door.

The hotel staff were really kind and helpful, checkout at 12, can’t complain to be honest, just really loud AC if you have it on but I needed it on as I was boiling from the weather.

The hotel chain has a decent reputation. The Newcastle location is looking its age and some of the decor, paintwork and general upkeep is looking tired. The biggest issue in this day and age is no air conditioning. We stayed at the hottest weekend of the year and it was unbearable. The corridors to the rooms are lovely and chilled but the rooms were roasting. As i said, the place needs a refurb and updating. Other than that, staff are lovely and the location is by the Tyne which is idyllic.

A reasonable hotel on the quayside of Newcastle.This was once one of the premier hotels, but sadly appears to be in need of a slight refurbishment. The rooms are of a large size however but seem to be in a slight need of a refurb as some of the woodwork, and tea point areas are dated along with the bathrooms. The beds are good and the views on the evenings out of the patio doors are lovely in good weather. So in summary an fairly dated but ok hotel on the Quayside.
