Days Inn by Wyndham Battlefield Rd/Hwy 65
"We were greeted by a lovely, friendly lady who gave us our door passes and a map of Springfield and we were grateful to what appeared a clean and tidy room. However on putting our drinks in the refrigerator there was a bottle of some energy drink in it. I presume it wasn't a gift from the hotel to worn out travellers! As I had brought teabags from UK we decided to have a brew before heading out to see the Fantastic Caves. Imagine my surprise when the water came through brown instead of clear - discovered a coffee sachet in the machine and once cleaned out we managed to get the necessary hot drink. However a spring and piece of plastic also came adrift from somewhere. On showering this morning we noticed a 3 - 4 inch crack on the bottom of the bath tub ... maybe management need to check this one out (didn't have time to report it to management before we left which looked like it may have been there fior some time). We went to breakfast 10 minutes prior to the end of service - the scrambled eggs were plentiful but cold. We did have our daily fix of hot waffles but nothing else as we didn't want to hold staff up. Saw the swimming pool which looked fine but never had the time to use it. All in all this hotel was adequate for what we needed as an overnight stop."
