Looks better than it is

So we get in Friday evening and the staff could not have been nicer. We get up to the room and the size of our room is fine, looks clean and comfortable and I think to myself that we scored a great hotel! But... you can definitely hear outside noise and you can also definitely hear your neighbors having conversations. We may have been able to understand them if we'd tried! The beds were very hard and you have to step up into the bathroom; in the middle of the night this could be a problem, and was for me. As others have said, the sink is just a bowl on a pedestal. There was a narrow glass shelf above the sink, against the mirror, but it was set at an angle which tilted down away from the mirror, so if you try to put anything on it it would slide off, as my glasses kept doing. I asked people in the elevators about their rooms and they seemed to have the same complaints. I did try the free beer reception one evening and was introduced to a fantastic IPO that I will definitely look for in the future. I feel the MAX has tried but not quite succeeded. Even though I found it at a great deal, I won't be returning.

Great location!

Hotel Max has amazing energy. It's upbeat, stylish and in a great location. You can walk to several points of interest or to public trans. Samuel was very helpful in making sure I was settling in and pointing out places to go and things to see. Linz was wonderful in helping me get my things up to my room and valeting my truck. I enjoyed chatting with Linz in the lobby when he had a spare moment. I will be back Max!

Very chic hotel

This hotel has excellent, attentive staff, appreciated perks (free beer!), and quiet, lovely, clean rooms. Though the hotel is downtown, the soundproofing is so good I can honestly say I did not notice the typhoon that hit Seattle!

Perfect location, friendly staff

Pros: Friendly Staff, great location
Cons: in room coffee maker/hot water for beverages.
Location: centrally located, walked to Pike place and space needle. Shopping and movie theaters within walking distance as well. Perfect location!
I stayed at Hotel Max for a weekend trip to Seattle. It was a great location, close to all the tourist locations - I walked everywhere. It was also close to public transportation, so I didn't have to get a rental car or a taxi anywhere. There's a great restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff at the hotel was amazing, friendly, and very welcoming. There was a free beer reception in the late afternoon. Refreshing after a day out sightseeing! The room was tiny, but I was traveling solo and it had all the comforts of home. Only drawback - no coffee maker in the room. I've gotten so used to that now at most hotels I can make a cup of tea in the evening before bed. However, it was Seattle, so there was a Starbucks at the end of the block.

Great hotel in great location.

Pros: Location downtown on a side street. Pleasant surroundings in the middle of a city. The art decor was beautiful. Clean and nicely decorated.
Location: Space Needle..Chihuly Glass Museum, Seattle Center....shopping....lots of restaurants....Pike Market Place all in walking distance. Link Rail close.
I stayed at the Max to run the Seattle Marathon. Great location to see the sights. Condition of hotel was great. The decor was attractive. Well kept with amenities. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable about the area with suggestions. Check in and out was efficient. Cleaning staff was very thorough.

Stylish makeover of an older building

Pros: Great staff, free (and tasty) coffee and beer in the lobby, good room rate.
Cons: The walls are a bit thin.
Location: Near Westlake Center, lots of shopping, and walking distance to everything a tourist might want to see. It's close to the Convention Center.
I stayed for five nights at the end of October. The staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. The lobby is set up like a living room with a couch, chairs and a fireplace. It is nice to sit there and sip free coffee in the morning, or free beer in the evening. The walls between rooms are a bit thin; luckily, earplugs were provided on the bed side at no charge! The decor is hip, clearly I was not the target demographic for this hotel since most of the other guests were younger than I am. Still and all, a good bargain and a fine hotel.

Inexperienced staff.

Pros: The newness
Cons: Training of staff at front door and front desk.
Location: It's a good location not far from the monorail station downtown. The Where magazines arrived at the front desk but were not available for distribution
I never received phone message which came in after I checked in and this affected my schedule for dinner. The Front door staff was unaware whether hop on/hop off bus was still running for a city tour while i verified they were closed for the winter on the internet. The Front desk staff was uneven. They booked my return to the airport on Shuttle Express and told me they charged my credit card for the trip but when i got on the bus, the trip was not paid for. This is an upmarket hotel and ideal for those who only want a bed for the night.

Hotel Max was in a nice central location, we could walk to anywhere downtown. The staff was amazing, they offered a number to text them at anytime for questions regarding our room status or lunch suggestions. Our room was really unique and nicely decorated, it was a bit smaller than I would have liked but we spent so little time in it. I would definetly stay there again!

Hey there! Thanks for staying and for sharing your rave review with us. Thrilled to hear you enjoyed your overall stay and found our location and team to be amazing. Our team is what makes the Max rock. Also, thanks for noting that even though the room was small (it is!) that given the amount of time you spent inside it didn't affect your overall experience. Again, thanks for staying and we cannot wait to welcome you back. Cheers, Kevin Scott General Manager Hotel Max
