Upon arriving at our hotel, we were unable to access the lobby through the front door due to renovations. Unfortunately, we had not received any information about these renovations beforehand (at least I couldn't find it in my email). The entire front entrance was blocked off, which made access to parking from that side of the street impossible, as a large dump truck was obstructing the pathway to the parking garage. While I believe access was available from the other side of the building, I wasn't entirely sure. We ultimately had to enter through a side door.
Check-in was smooth, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, which was a positive aspect of our stay. The receptionist did inform us about the renovations throughout the hotel, but we were not prepared for how extensive they were. The hotel elevator had a strong smell of marijuana, and once we reached our floor, we encountered plastic flooring that extended all the way to our room and beyond, with various doors taped off or covered in plastic. This made us feel a bit uneasy.
Our room itself was nice and clean, with no significant issues. One note: the sink by the small wet bar was not working, but the sink in the bathroom was functional.
Overall, I'm sure once renovations are complete the experience will be better. But the hotel should maybe communicate the amount of renovations taking place and reflect it in the price
