Beautiful structures and grounds. The staff on site was very well trained. Only blemishes on the experience were a lack luster meal at Caruso's, food was really average at best. Lunch food at the bar overlooking the water was good. The tables should have been a little larger to accomodate people eating lunch not just cocktails. The waiter we had at lunch didn't bring the cocktail ordered. Seemed put out when we asked for ketchup for our burgers, said he couldn't find any and then when we were almost done brought some. Beach was great, the attendant there was super helpful in getting the kayak out and trying to get us up on the paddle board offering tips. Malibu Farms restaurant was very good and the pool experience with the scoop shop for the kids was great. They really had a hard time though keeping towels available at the pool. Didn't seem like there were ever towels at the towel stations and you had to chase down one of the attendants to get a towel. All of these points were minor but things that could be improved on by the hotel given the level of service you can tell the aim to achieve. Quality of food at Caruso's is one item that the hotel should take a serious look at. With a hotel of this caliber and the owner's name stamped on the restaurant I would have expected the fine dining experience to be top notch with the food shining through as the highlight, not just relying on the view and staff to carry the restaurant.
