Everything was great except very noisy outside our room. I think we were near where they received deliveries - heard trucks at 4am - we would of switched rooms but didn't have time to - we were out and about all day and didn't want to waste time trying to deal with this.

Cleanliness and comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast. Only negative was that we were on first floor by the road which was very, very noisy all night. Another family member was by the entrance to the hallway. They kept hearing the banging of the door opening and closing.

There was a mix up with the number of people staying in the room between Expedia reservation and the hotel. Not a big deal but caused delays at breakfast. Also breakfast was indicated as free when there was an occupant charge.

Great location and easily walkable to Pier 39. I read many reviews about the great breakfast buffet and it did not disappoint. It can get very busy for breakfast but they are extremely organized and get you in quickly. They held our bags before check in so we could explore a bit until our room was ready. Spacious clean rooms.

Only positive is proximity to Fisherman’s Wharf

This hotel did not live up to expectations. We booked a family suite and the pullout couch was very uncomfortable. My children said they felt the springs from the couch poking them all night. We also had to call the front desk for extra bedding for the couch which is typically provided in the bedroom closet. The bellmen tried to barge into the room to make the bed but it was almost midnight by the time they got there so I took the bedding and made the bed myself. I shouldn’t have to tip for bedding that should be in the room already. Parking WAS NOT available for me onsite. I have a very modest Chevy Silverado 1500 (completely stock, not lifted) and their parking garage couldn’t accommodate it. I had to circle the block several times to find a structure that could fit my truck. They say breakfast is included in the cost of the room, but I found out they charge per person. I never adjust the numbers travelers coming with me when booking because it’s only my wife, two young boys (under 10) and my newborn baby in the room, I didn’t think it mattered. Well the Riu charged per person in their “included” breakfast, which by the way, had a line of 50+ people in it every morning waiting to get an open table. They also charge a $70 “resort” fee which they say is for the use of their pool and office/print stations which we never used. Last, we also had broken furniture in our room- seems hardly like a resort. I recommend checking out other hotels if you’re looking in SF.

Pros: Great location for Fisherman's Wharf. Lobby is clean and bright. Good breakfast buffet (but see cons for more about breakfast). Cons: 1. Our hallway smelled like weed. 2. Toilet/shower area was TINY and difficult to close the door without maneuvering your body to the side of the toilet. 3. They required everyone in the room (even under 18) to show ID at check-in. Sort of a hassle since mine were still out in the car...never saw a hotel require this before. 4. At check-in, the employee told us that everyone in our room had to come to breakfast at the same TIME and that the hotel was full so "Come early to make sure there is food." I find both of these things unacceptable; we are on vacation and should not be forced to get up early (or at the same time) in order to make sure there is food. A professional catering service such as a hotel should know how to estimate their food options and plan for full capacity. Also requiring us all to come at once is ridiculous. **Summary: Two of us went to breakfast early and there was plenty of good food choices, but two preferred to sleep in and therefore missed breakfast. I don't know if they did run out of food, but I am just reporting what I was told at check-in. They seat you at a table for breakfast, so it was well organized. **For the price, I would probably go elsewhere in the future.
