Nice hotel near the Pier, but beds are small

Pros: Outside fire pits were very nice.
Cons: Get rid of the double beds, Queens are much more comfortable. Also, bathrooms are too tight!
Location: Nice location near the popular Pier area.
During our 9 day trip through the West, this was the one and only hotel, out of 6, that had double beds instead of queen beds. All night long I felt like I was falling off. For the price we paid per night I feel there should be Queen beds. Bathroom is also extremely tight. I do like the sink vanity separated from the shower/toilet area, but it was tight! I was also surprised that what we paid for parking did not include a valet. We were asked at the main entrance if we needed help with our bags, but we were then told to park in the underground lot ourselves. On a POSITIVE note, the outside fire pits were very nice for the chilly evenings, even in July. The location was just one block from the popular Pier area. Except when you walk there, you will be asked for money by homeless people that seem to hang out right in front of the hotel. I know San Fran spends an exuberant amount of money on their homeless, but the program doesn't seem to be working. MOST IMPORTANT: we were the victims of a smash and grab while at a nearby park. We had just checked out of the hotel, so all of our luggage was in the car. When we returned to the car, 4 of the 6 bags were gone, an estimated $4,800 in personal property. The police wouldn't even come to the scene saying it happens everyday, especially to cars parked at the pier. I wish more money in San Fran was spend on security. We never once saw a police car our entire stay.

close to pier but snooty people

First when we checked in the woman at the desk was annoyed that our credit card didn't swip and almost demanded another card when we said we didn't have one she passed it off to someone else, room was clean but bed was very bouncy and the pillows were terrible. Parking was very pricey as a guest I wouldn't expect to pay $56 a night also I loved that they had fire pits to sit by to bad the bums did too as we attempted to sit there one night a homeless man had taken vacancy on one for a short period of time, over all I was slightly disappointed with the hotel experience. In my opinion the hotel isn't so fancy or over the top for the money it cost.

15 year anniversary trip

Pros: Staff was friendly. Location was great, close to all the places we wanted to go to.
Cons: offer free wifi... It was free at the lobby not in our room???? parking and breakfast fees were a bit much.
Location: Lots of things to do nearby....
We were disappointed with the location of our room. We felt disconnected to the hotel since we had to always walk out the building and up stairs thru a secure door.

Dear Harold, Thanks for choosing us for your anniversary trip. Great to read that our staff stood out for the service that they provided. Sorry to hear that the room assignment was not as good and regret that you did not let us know during your stay. We hope that you will return and, of course, let us know of your room preferences when you make your reservations. Sincerely, Michael Hirsch

Cute hotel, great location, but very noisy

We stayed one night there & that was enough! The hotel itself was very nice, clean & updated, but the noise outside our window was unbearable. Probably the worst sleep I've ever had. The cable car ran next to us & shook our bed every time it passed. I expected some noise being in the city, but starting before 5AM there were busses, people yelling, & it was garbage night so we heard all that too... we were on the 2nd floor, maybe if it was in a different part of the hotel it would've been more pleasant. Like I said, the hotel & staff were terrific & we really loved the decor, we could really tell we were in the wharf with the blue & white, but I wouldn't stay there again only for that reason.

Centrally located for sf touring, but

Sheraton fisherman's wharf was in a good location four doing sf tours. However the surrounding area is a dump. The common grounds of the hotel are teaming with vagrants everywhere. The hotel makes no effort to keep them off property . Felt extremely unsafe, and I am from NY. Every place we toured was lovely. But I would choose a different location to stay if I visited again. Dirty city in that area. Sheraton itself pricey, but as expected. Staff was pleasant.

Noisy Room

Pros: Cleanliness, location
Cons: noisiness
The room was very clean but also very noisy. If you stay at this hotel, get a room on the 2nd floor. We could hear every foot step from our neighbors above us. At first I thought maybe we were next to the fitness center, but no..... It was just a regular room with a normal family.

Nice hotel close to fisherman's wharf.

Room a little tight for four people. Had to ask for towels, soap and shampoo for four people even though we paid extra for the forth person.

Quick trip with two teens

This hotel was ok. The staff was Excellent. There is no real bar to speak of, the bar is part of the breakfast restaurant at night. The pool area is ok but you have to pass through an area which can be used for food trolleys after breakfast functions. Its a large hotel and requires a lot of walking to and from your room . Its good for a one night stay but the hotel needs a big remodel. Plus side is outdoor seating and firepits but they are near the maib car and taxi entry

Worst Sheraton I've ever stayed in.

Pros: Friendly staff and location.
Cons: Update the hotel. Improve lighting in the bathroom. Provide free Internet access in the room. Provide free continental breakfast in the lobby.
Location: Near Fisherman's Wharf, don't need to say anything else.
Staff was outstanding, always polite and extremely helpful. That's where the positives end. The hotel was old and needed updating. The bathroom was small and dark. Worst of all, if you pay over $500/night for a room, you should not be EXPECTED TO PAY EXTRA FOR INTERNET ACCESS IN YOUR ROOM!
