"In general, my experience was good. Best Western -Rancho Cordova is a good balance between cost and usability. My biggest gripe (this stay) is not really Best Western's fault. This is just a note to my fellow travelers: It's better not to use the elevator near the front desk any time near 9 AM. There are just too many people! This is a high traffic time. When I was trying to get to the second floor from the ground floor, it seemed to take forever. When the door finally opened, a guest came out. When I got in - again - it took a long time for anything to happen. When I finally got to the second floor, the door opened and a guest was waiting. It seemed like (in both cases) the other person and myself were making requests to the elevator, and it didn't know what to do. Going back to my tech school days, I bet one approach that might fix the issue: use something as simple as a vintage Intel 8-bit microprocessor. Interface it to the elevator. It could be programmed so that 1) the elevator will only respond to the first person who presses the button, or 2) the elevator will only respond to the person who is physically closest to the passenger compartment, or 3) the elevator gives first priority to someone who has already entered the passenger compartment... you get the idea. Instead of the people getting jerked around by a system that doesn't know what to do, the system has been assigned priorities that fairly saves everyone time. Next time, I will walk."
