We are very pet friendly! Also at our property we have special hypoallergenic floors that are pet free!

Amazing furniture and feel to the whole hotel. Everything felt very upscale. There was nowhere to eat in the surrounding area after 10 and room service options were very limited.

I paid for an expensive suite and then was made to wait over TWO HOURS past check-in to get into my room. The service at the hotel restaurant was awful too. VERY disappointing overall.

Oh no! We do our very best to have rooms ready early for when guests arrive. However our registration time is 4pm and sometime we are not able to register guests prior to this time.

Hotel was great...wonderful location right downtown. If you don't like dogs..stay away . Way too many pets..barking and growling. Its really a dog hotel with an occational person.

Thanks for your review. We are a pet friendly hotel and find over holiday weekends many people travel with all of their loved ones. Please note we do have hypoallergenic floors that are pet free. Just give us a call or have your reservation noted to have your room on one of these floors.

If I was traveling with my dog I would have been happier with this hotel. Pets were actually welcome and I liked that. But no doorman and not enough signage to direct us to underground valet meant we had to open the heavy doors, two sets of them, and bring all of our bags in ourselves and so we didn't feel good. I made the reservation with one credit card and was paying for three rooms with that card but had to swipe the card three times at the front desk for each room. The policy seems to be for the hotels convenience and not the guests. My room was not that clean, smudge marks on the dresser door handles, chipped furniture, dusty window sills, but the bed was very comfortable and overall the room was pleasing. My friends said their rooms were clean. The hotel needs more meticulous upkeep but it's nice.

Thank you for staying with us and your review. We apologize for the frustrating experience with your arrival, we will make sure our valet sign is more visible specifically when the doorman steps away. We do need to swipe the payment credit card on each reservation, this is for our guests security. Be assured we will also address you cleanliness comments with the appropriate staff. I hope you shared your concerns while on the property. We want to know. Our guest's comfort is most important to us. We hope you choose to stay with us again in the future, we know we can do and are better that this stay experience!

Don't Bring a car!

Pros: Location!
Cons: If you feel the need to charge for overnight parking to your guests, at least make it reasonable!! Say $25 a night vs. $41 !!! That is rediculous!
Location: Restaurants galore with in walking distance. City is very safe to walk. You will need a car to do the other many sites like wineries, trails, hiking.
Recent 5 night pleasure stay. Hotel is in downtown Portland. Fairly centrally located to everything in the city and if you like to walk, you can do so with ease. On arrival I noted that valet ticket said $41 / night for over night parking but assumed that it pertained to non hotel guest since the parking was also used for non hotel guest. BTW, I brought a car because we were golfing everyday and needed the transportation to get to the courses and other sites we went to. It wasn't until check out that I learned other wise and found that the $41 / night was for guests! I was quite surprised to find this out since I booked it on Travelocity web site and never noticed this mentioned. What I did find out was that if you were obnoxious enough and complained enough, there were some guests who got this fee removed however I was not about to stoop to those levels as its just not my style. I still find it ridiculous that at $400 / night, they have the nerve to charge you to park at a rate of $41 / night. Having said all that, the Hotel itself was very nice, great location, good accommodations and friendly staff. I would stay there again but I would not bring a car or if I did, I might stoop to complaining about the rates as other guests did, LOL!

Love this hotel

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of downtown Portland. It is decorated in an interesting and eclectic fashion. Dogs are allowed on certain floors. They have a complementary wine reception each evening. The staff is very friendly and willing to make extra efforts to ensure guests are comfortable and feel welcome.

Fun hotel!

Pros: They want the guests to have a great experience.
The daily happy hour was lots of fun. The hotel gas log fireplace was great, since it was cold and rainy outside. The staff was very helpful. We would stay there again anytime in Portland.

Hospitality all the way

Pros: Very professional and courteous staff, cleanliness of hotel and rooms
Location: The hotel is downtown, and near many attractions, including the light rail that can get you around town.
The Hotel Monaco specializes in making its guests comfortable. When the front desk person found out it was my first time in Portland, she upgraded my room to a corner room with windows. I loved all of the natural light! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable (and I usually cannot sleep well in hotels), and it was quiet. I barely heard any noise. There were so many little perks, too. Every morning I grabbed a paper to read with my free morning coffee before heading out the door. When I returned, it was free wine hour. There were games for kids, a man playing the piano, and lots of fruit-flavored water to off-set the hot weather. Dogs are even allowed. It was a very friendly, relaxing stay.
