LAUREL HOUSE : A Quiet Oasis in NE Portland

↓PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING ↓:

This is a 2-unit house. You will be staying in the fully separate lower unit. We, the hosts (2 adults and a kitty), reside in the upstairs apartment, so you may see us outside in passing (or watering the garden), but we generally do our own thing and there is no need to interact if you so wish (But if you want to, we love to meet our guests!) Your indoor space is not shared with residents of the home and you will be the only guest who will use this accommodation. Your privacy is our priority!

There is one marked off-street parking space and plenty of street parking.

There is a large yard (90% enclosed) for guest use with several shaded sitting areas, outdoor dining area, propane BBQ, propane fire pit, and seasonal fruit and veggies that guests are welcome to pick! Please supervise children and remember to pick up after dogs.

Inside, there are 2 main bedrooms with king beds plus an office with a full bed. 1.5 bathrooms include towels, a hairdryer, and shampoo/conditioner.

Kitchen is fully equipped and includes coffee/tea, spices, and cooking oil.

Guest full size washer and drier and detergent is located outside the kitchen door.

For those traveling with children and infants, guests are provided with a pack and play, changing table, high chair, various infant linens, and children's utensils and dishes.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
1. Place any bagged trash in the appropriate bins outside the kitchen door. (Grey = Landfill, Blue = Recyclables, Green = Compost/Yard waste, Yellow = Glass).
2. Start the dishwasher. Dishwasher pods are under the sink.
3. Please strip the beds that were used and place all linens/towels in the laundry basket in the bathroom.

We had a great stay - home was well appointed. The kitchen pots, pans, and utensils were in great condition, which isn't always the case. The outdoor space is great. We so appreciated the pack and play as well as the high chair. The home offers great value. From a location standpoint - it is convenient/ close to highways but it isn't the most charming Portland location. If you are looking for a highly walkable location with sidewalks, this isn't it. That being said, if you have dogs, there's a dog park a few blocks down.

We loved our stay at the Laurel House and will definitely stay there again! The owners were friendly and helpful, but also gave us privacy. The house is very quiet and felt safe. Parking was easy and the yard was great for our dogs. The house itself was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The location was perfect for quick access to the freeway, PDX, and many of the neighborhoods that we wanted to visit. There are great restaurants close by too!

Our stay at Laurel House was wonderful! The beds were comfortable, the layout of the house facilitated ease with sleeping arrangements, conversations, and eating. The surrounding yard and garden are fantastic and so pretty! We enjoyed hanging out outside in the seating area.

Oasis in NE Portland

Beautiful property in NE Portland less than ten minutes from PDX - but you don’t really hear much noise. The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing. House was clean and had everything we needed. Hosts were quick to respond if we needed anything. Will gladly stay again when we’re back in Portland.
