"My boyfriend and I just came back from a long weekend at the Lakeside Inn and we really enjoyed ourselves!! PSA if you are not looking to stay in a HISTORIC ANTIQUE hotel this may not be for you, but it was for us! Beautifully restored wood floors, clawfoot tub for soaking (plumbing was backwards), cozy hand made quilts for each room! You may lack the modern conveniences like a refrigerator in your room (we ended up bringing a small cooler for leftovers and used ice from the machine on the first floor) but it makes up for it in the charm and character. The location is everything! Absolutely beautiful and perfectly located to all of downtown Mount Dora’s shops and restaurants. Everything we wanted to do was already there within walking distance and the few things we drove off property for were 10-20 minutes away. We will most certainly be back!"

"The noise from highway was very bad. Also we heard loud footsteps from room above in evening."

"The room smelled very bad, dirty rug. The balcony had bird droppings on it so you could not sit out there. The bathroom had bugs. On the upside the staff was very friendly and the grounds seemed well kept. The breakfast was typical and flavorful. The parking lot was well lit."

"Upon entering the hotel I could tell it wasn’t up corporate standards. The check in clerk was friendly and was able to get to my room in a short amount of time. They put me on the 4th floor which was no problem because they have an elevator. Plus I think with the normal construction guests on the first floor they probably kept me from the first floor noise. The room was ok. Not the best though. The wood under the refrigerator was totally rotten. The telephone had a message waiting but when you call the message line it says busy. I’m guessing they aren’t paying for that service? The shower floor is curved at the bottom so they put a bath mat down so you don’t slip but if you step backwards you can easily slip. Ask me how I know! And I have to believe the bath mat isn’t a very sanitary way solve the shower bottom issue. The carpet in the hallway were filthy. The ceiling tiles in the lobby and kitchen area looked like there was water leak but the tiles weren’t replaced. The sign in the lobby said they were under construction but I didn’t see any work being done? Was probably a ruse to make you think it was. The continental breakfast was poor. Biscuits were hard. Gravy almost gone and that’s an hour before it closes. No pastries at all. Waffles yes. But the butter. Was hard as a rock. Parking lot was ok. Not much trash around. They need an automatic door and the entry so you don’t have to put down items you’re carrying in or out. The next door is. Overall poor for a Wyndom hotel"

"Everything here was great. The beds were comfortable, pillows were great. They even provided shower soap & conditioner. Unfortunately, we didnt stay for the breakfast, but it smelled good. I Loved the Lake right outside our room. We also saw Cranes there. "
