The hotel is older, but still nice. Rooms are outdated, but not bad. No safe or fridge. No way to adjust temperature of the room, but temperature was comfortable for us. Only real complaint was the shower water kept moving from cold to very hot.

Historic Hotel in Phoenix

The service was excellent, check-in was efficient. The bed was a bit small and not very comfortable; but it was fine. I wanted to stay at this hotel because it is old and historic; so it was what I expected! The bathroom is dated, but everything was clean. We stayed because we went to a comedy show at Footprint Center. It was an excellent place to stay in walking distance to basketball & baseball & restaurants.

This was the most frightening hotel experience of my life! I was not informed I would have to park my car in a parking deck which was two blocks away at 10:00 PM! I had to double park my car to register at the hotel since the hotel put cones in the street to block anyone from parking. I took my bags to the room and was shocked. My room certainly did not look like the room on the website! The furniture was old and with scratches. The television was ancient with one channel (ION). Afterwards, I had to drive two blocks to park my car. When I attempted to walk from the parking deck to the hotel, I was approached by two homeless men (at different times). The first man asked me for a dollar. I told him I didn’t have any money. He walked past me. However, when I turned around he had changed directions and was walking behind me. I ran from him for a half block until I was approached by another homeless man. I started running again, past a homeless woman sitting in the doorway of a store. When I made it back to the hotel, I removed my coat and realized the room was freezing. Since there was no thermostat, I couldn’t adjust the temperature. When I attempted to take my medicine, I saw there were no cups or glasses. The mattress was of a very poor quality. The ceiling fan had extremely bright lights with long chains to turn the light and fan on and off. There was no outlet by the nightstand to charge my phone-just an old click radio. The wall of the closet was uneven and was painted over

Good stay

Historic old hotel. Very comfy bed and good variety of pillows. Good location. Convenient and safe. Did not see any ghosts, thankfully! Good price point for us.

Fine

The hotel is a bit lesser than what you’d expect. Also, we asked for an additional pillow and some towels during our stay (they only gave us three pillows), and that was a hassle to get.

Absolutely NO parking, so it's an additional $15 per night to "safely" park at a nearby public parking structure, a block away. Also no individual room control of thermostat. It just blows continuously. Great if you're looking for a kitchy historic place, but other than that, you'll get more for your money finding a Motel 6 in the suburbs.

I guess the old saying " You get what you pay for" applys here. The Hotel is old and in serious need of renovation. The good, location, it's right downtown close to everything. The room was dated but clean and had all the usual things you expect in a room. The bad, the room was so hot with no way of cooling it down. It was 100 outside and I would guess mid 80s in room, made it hard to sleep. The shower, rusty water came out when I turned it on. The staff was fine and helped us find parking as the hotel provides none. The area around the hotel is dirty and had several economically challenged folks sleeping on sidewalk. But I never felt unsafe. Overall, for the location and the price this is a good hotel and the staff does their best with what they have to work with. Suggest putting no onsite or Valet parking on your website so folks aren't surprised when they arrive.
