Dirty.

The ride up to the room smelled of marijuana and alcohol. Once on our floor we made our way to the door where it literally smelled of alcohol and throw-up. The room was optically nice untill you looked. Pubes on the sheets of one of the beds, floor was filthy with debris. Ended up using our own sheets, and wearing our shoes. The tub/shower had a partial wall which allowed water to flood the bathroom. Had to use the hotel towels to mop up the water. My family did not feel safe or secure at this hotel, which is probably the worst part. I like to stay and eat at local places when traveling. Next time in Memphis, we will seek a Marriott.

Bathroom door needs to be extend to keep water off the floor. Needs a better loading/unloading area. Breakfast wasn’t good. Potato’s were very mushy, eggs were super runny and tasted of heavy garlic. Staff was very welcoming and super nice

The staff were amazing at this property. Ebony at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure our stay was excellent. The room was spacious and we were upgraded at the time of check in. Our air conditioning did not work well. Maintenance came in to check on it and ebony called us to see if we wanted to change rooms. We thought we would be okay for two nights and we were. I found the carpet in the room and hallways to be very dated and stained. But it did not take away from the fun we had while there. There was nothing to do right around the hotel and walking back from Beale Street felt a little unsafe in one of the two nights, with some of the homeless people. The front door was locked and Ebony let us in.

At one time this was an immaculate hotel. So many upgrades are needed. Front desk was awesome. They were extremely nice and respectful. Housekeeping needs to be replaced. Window seals in room were extremely dusty as my allergies were at an all time high. Flat sheet used as a fitted sheet on the bed. Bathroom sink clogged and room phone didn't work as it was needed once to call guest services but instead had to go downstairs to complete my request. Maintenance manager needs to go expeditiously. He is rude and came at a late hour. He was not dressed as he represented the hotel but as if he was about to go out for the night. When I opened the door he didn't introduce himself as a worker so asked "how can I help?" . His rudeness came at an all time high. At that point I told him his services were not needed because we had already been there for two days so he can come back the next day to assure the next guest have a better experience. I used to love this hotel but I will not be back.

Nice old hotel

The Hu Hotel was very nice. We only stayed one night but the staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is a little chaotic and you have to pay for it.They have an incidentals fee that covers the parking but would have been nice to know ahead of time. We slept in so did not pertake in the buffet breakfast. The rooftop bar is very nice and had great scenery. Hotle is within walking distance of good food and entertainment. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably book again if we pass through Memphis!

So first the staff had excellent customer service. However, the carpet in the room I stayed in had lots of stains. There was lipstick on one the glasses. There was visible dirt and dust in several areas. The breakfast was minimal. No bacon, no non dairy options for milk. There are no ice machines, you have to come downstairs. There was also a dent or some type instability in the floor of my room.

The hotel was very unique with a classy twist. Friendly staff. The roof top was nice. What I didn't like was not having a bigger bar and grill in the hotel. I will definitely stay there again and again.
