Awesome!!!

Nice hotel! Close to everything I wanted to do & see. My room was a little small for 2 people but got an awesome deal on the room so it all worked out in the end. :)

Meh...

Very old building with equally old carpet which made it rather smelly. Updated bathrooms were nice tho. Everyday housekeeping forgot something - important items such as no shampoo refill, no coffee cups, no water cups. Felt bad having to continually ask for these things. Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again given the other endless options in NYC

Convenient to local attractions

This was a nice, no frills hotel. The staff was great, I checked in early (1030am) and checked out late (130pm) with no extra charges. I had a late afternoon flight and they stored my luggage for me. The room was clean and the bed was ultra comfortable. The bathroom sink, while fancy, was almost non-functional due to the shape and size. I discovered after the fact, that the complimentary bottle of water cost $5.

Great Location

Pros: The staff & location.
Cons: The decor is a bit tired. Bed sheets - one night the sheets looked like someone had trampled on them with dirty shoes. Second night there were holes.
Location: Central Park, Shopping and great restaurants
This hotel has a great location. What isn't walking distance is only a short train or cab ride away. The staff were very friendly, especially Daniel, the bell hop. From the moment that we arrived, he greeted us with a welcome, friendly smile. Whether it was to open a door, press the elevator button, or hail a cab, he was always one step ahead of you to offer help. He also offered daily tips ( local events, train routes etc.), which really made our stay even more wonderful. There's no room service, so we ate at the Opia on site twice. The first time was for lunch; it was okay. We enjoyed a couple of dishes, and our waitress was lovely. On the second occasion, we had breakfast, which was awful. I ordered the American breakfast, which came out with one piece of stale, hard as a rock toast, and what seemed like day old pastries, plus it was missing the bacon that was offered with this dish. When we asked about the missing bacon, our waiter looked at us and said it wasn't included in that meal. We also had to ask for the exchange of cream jars twice for the coffee because both had spoiled. It's too bad because it has such great potential. Breakfast on the veranda over looking the street was nice.
