great hotel

Pros: Decor, spacious room
Cons: Check in/out was crazy busy, slow.
Location: Enjoyed the theaters, and several local restaurants.
Great location, very modern decor, friendly staff. Spacious room, comfortable bed, unfortunately restaurant was not operational, so we did not experience food.

A Yes Maybe review

Perfect location, price was good--off season, January, and room is nice and adorable for a small NYC Times Sq hotel. BUT, if you need coffee before 7am, there is zero coffee in the room or in the hotel. Not in the lobby, no lobby restaurants open at that hour, nada. You have to suit up and go out to a restaurant. It's NY, there are plenty in the blocks around the hotel ( a few 24 hour good choices), but please...that is absurd. And it took two calls for a broken hair dryer to be replaced. I never fully figured out the high tech shower, but it was warm enough. A yes, maybe, but if I go back I'll give another a try.

RIU Plaza New York, Times Square

Hotel is clean, but spartan. We had a glass bathroom door break, the room they moved us to the A/C didn’t work. They had a water pipe break two rooms down. No on site parking but do have a valet service. I guess for the price close to Times Square it was okay. Good breakfast buffet included with room. May stay there again, may not!!

Nice hotel close to everything

Pros: The included breakfast and the staff personnel.
Cons: Put a curtain or blind or something on the other side of the shower stall.
Location: Theaters, time square, hotel is located on Restaurant Row.
RIU front desk staff are very friendly and eager to help. The staff person who helps hail a cab was fabulous. Helped us reserve a car and the car was there waiting for us when we came outside. The bar staff were very friendly as well. Sorry I didnt get names. The room was very nice. It served its purpose since we hardly spent time in the room. I did have one issue, and that was the shower stall. I hated she stall and that is the one feature that would prevent me from coming back. The shower stall was not private at all. One could see the person taking a shower from the other side of the wall!! Its nice for two adults, but not for a family with teenagers. Also, the door to close the bathroom has an opening and you could see the person on the toilet if sitting any where facing the bathroom. I did make a comment to the front desk and they said that is how all the bathrooms were and they understood there is no privacy.

Great hotel

This hotel is a great place to stay. It's within walking distance of most of the popular spots and places. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room and bed were clean, comfortable, and the view of the city was amazing. I definitely would stay there again! Ps- the restaurant in the lobby was really good too.., and the breakfast buffett was awesome!

Soothing spot in the middle of everything

Pros: The beds were fantastic. Firm mattresses with a soft top. Breakfast was best I've ever had in a hotel.
Cons: Price had a hidden facility fee. Maybe you could negotiate around that by knowing that it's there.
Location: Location is just a few blocks from Times Square -- walking distance from many New York attractions. We were there for Yoga on the Solstice. Fabulous.
This hotel was a random choice among many. They advertised a discounted rate, but by the time they add all the taxes and an unnecessary facility fee, it was no bargain. However, there were many perks. They had a really abundant buffet breakfast at no charge. Beautiful fresh fruit, eggs in various styles, bagels, toast, all forms of coffee. Fresh and delicious. The beds in our room were incredibly comfortable. The decor was soothing. I don't like white rooms much and I'm not a fan of modern design in general. But the color choices were comforting somehow. Slept like a baby.

Awesome!

Pros: Everything! Reasonable priced restaurant and a Grab and Go for coffee and sandwiches.
Cons: I would have like a fan in the bathroom.
Location: Excellent location. You can walk to Broadway theatres and TKTS. Amy's Bread and Kiehl's are just around the corner on 9th Avenue.
We loved everything about this new hotel. Location is excellent between 8th and 9th Avenues on 46th St.. Front desk personnel courteous and helpful. Five elevators. We were on the 24th floor with view of the Hudson River. We had lunch in the restaurant (very reasonable specials from 12-3), Grab and Go has coffee and smoothies and a variety of sandwiches and wraps. We walked to TKTS and Broadway shows. Many very good restaurants nearby. We will definitely return.

Not a good experience

Pros: Location.
Cons: Public relations.
Location: Close to theaters and other venues.
Not everything that was promised was true. They said there would be water included in the rooms, there was none. The fire alarm went off at about 4:30 PM and even though they said the issue was resolved, they did not start the elevators functioning for at least half an hour afterwards, leaving me to go down 27 flights of stairs because I had to make it to a meeting by 5:30. I am 66 years old and this left me unable to walk properly for three days, had to miss several activities I had planned and paid for because my knees were shot. When I asked at the front desk if they could comp me for some of the loss, they said no. There was not even an apology for the elevators not working for so long. I will not go back to this hotel or recommend it to my friends.
