Absolutely gross and dirty hotel. Looks nothing like the pictures, barely any air conditioning, hair all over the bathroom floor, sink leaks, no hot water. I do not understand why this hotel is getting positive reviews. I actually cancelled the remainder of my reservation and booked a new hotel.

Staff and services are great and friendly. Convenient location to Koreatown and Herald Square. Please keep in mind this hotel is vintage with cute decor. Bed is high, thick and very comfortable. Pillows are fluffy. Love the free water bottles that are highly needed with walking around Manhattan. Lots of hangers in closet. Love the lobby’s decor, bar and restaurant. Check in desk in tuck away in the back between the two elevators. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for week and couldn’t ask for a more hospitable stay than we had. All the staff were amazing and helpful through out the entire stay. We saw in previous reviews people said it was loud… we are in NYC anywhere would be. However we did not think it was noisy at all considering we are in the city. Highly suggest the location and hotel to anyone.

A ver nice and comfortable hotel, with an excellent restaurant. Very weell located, easy to walk around, and very close to bus and subway stations. Our TV failed a couple of night, but aside from that, an excellent choice.

Nice little spot near MSG

Got the cheapest room available, so I wasn't expecting the moon. Room contained a bed, a small writing desk and a chair, with a TV mounted on the wall. There was barely 2 feet around the sides of the bed, but enough to get around it without difficulty. Bathroom was nice with a mixture of new tub, sink and fixtures and old marble floor. Closet was narrow, but deep to hang clothes, with storage baskets in lieu of a dresser with drawers. Bed was comfortable. Mattress and pillows were plush. Through the wall air conditioner and radiator heat were available, but didn't need either for my stay. Never quite figured out how to program TV. Screen came up with a need for information I didn't have, like space number or property number and smart box serial number. Didn't use it, so didn't call down to ask. Would stay there again, especially for a Madison Square Garden event.

The room was charming. The shower was clean and recently updated. Their facilities staff member was so friendly and helpful. It is New York, so it is noisy - but the windows weren’t great. Between the draft and the street noise, we kept checking to see if a window was open or broken. The shutters helped a bit. Apart from the windows, it was a pleasant stay.

It’s a really nice place ! The room is very clean and confortable. There are many excursions just near to the hotel. At the welcome desk, some people aren’t friendly when you don’t speak English perfectly.

Great location, Life magazine history, and relatively quiet for NYC. Easy to walk to various eateries and shopping; not far from subway station. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Elevator system is old and a bit slow, but that is part of the building history. Has new Mediterranean restaurant (turn down the techno music) and coffee bar. Unfortunately, the Barista is unprofessional and rude. Recommend addressing that. This is still my fave boutique hotel in NYC.

We stayed 9 nights at the Life Hotel and had a great stay, the staff and hotel were great. Our family had a two queen room that fit our needs very well. It is a cool vintage property that offers smaller boutique sized rooms which is what we expected based on the website and reviews. The beds were very comfortable and the room had a larger bathroom than we expected. The location was perfect as you are waking distance to some key attractions like Times Square but also close to the subway. We would stay here again.
