"So we happened to visit Paris during their hottest heatwave. The hotel has ac but it definitely can’t keep up with the heat. Its ductwork ac so an in room one on the wall probably would have worked better. It was warm if you’re trying to pack but we got home each night, took a cold shower, and once we relaxed it was manageable. Overnight we would use the blanket for our feet or legs. There’s no air in the bathroom so we kept that door closed. Shower door leaked water instead of keeping it in. So we just kept the towel bunched up there and hung it in the shower overnight. Shower pressure was great. Small room but of course that’s to be expected in Paris. We weren’t uncomfortable with the two of us and one big checked backpack, one smaller carry on backpack, and 2 personal items. FREE mini bar. You get to eat and drink everything in the fridge once and then it’s charged if you refill it. We had taken a 5 hour train so it was the perfect t arrival perk. Black out curtains and an insanely comfy bed. They offered breakfast for a fee but we just went out and tried different restaurants. Down the street from both a metro stop and a bike parking location for the e-bikes. It wasn’t a bad place to stay at all it was just hotter than we would have liked…. But all of Paris was."

"For the most part the Hotel Renoir was just fine for our purposes. Anyone interested in staying there should be mentally prepared for an extremely small room with very little space for baggage or other items that might need to be accessible for use. The main advantage of staying there is the Montparnasse neighborhood and easy access to a multitude of restaurants and shops and three Metro stops only a block or two away. We were guests of the hotel for nine nights (room 21). For the first three or four, the temperature outside was chilly but our room was roasting. No adjustment to the HVAC would make a difference. Our deliverance came from discovering that the window could be opened to let in cool air. For the final five nights, outside temperatures began to climb but we could not get the cooling system to do much of anything. The poor English of employees manning the front desk prevented us from getting the message across that our room temperature could not be adjusted to make it comfortable for most of our stay. Another annoyance was that the toilet seat in the bathroom had become disengaged, so use was difficult and uncomfortable. The bathroom, in general, was fine and up to date, but a few more towels delivered daily would have been a nice bonus. For some reason, surfaces in the bathroom had been protected with strips of hard clear plastic. Hands and feet were repeatedly cut by sharp points on these strips. Took only coffee and tea. Breakfast each day at Odessa, nearby."
