From its cool cafe culture and exceptional cuisine to its gorgeous vineyards and awesome skiing spots, France delights and surprises at every turn. With a history dating back to the Neolithic period and a heavy influence on world affairs today, French culture is familiar to folks around the globe. Today, the modern, diverse, and welcoming nation is a must-visit for any devoted traveler. So start searching for deals on hotels in France now.

    Art, Food and History

The French capital of Paris is located in the Ile-de-France region, and is arguably the world's most popular tourist city. There are many cheap hotels in Paris; some near the iconic Eiffel Tower and others close to the Louvre, a palace that now houses one of the largest museums in the world. From Paris, you can make your way to northern France to visit Normandy; known both for its gorgeous coastline and as a World War II landing location for the Allied invasion. In western France you'll find a culture influenced by the Celts, and the region of Brittany, a beautiful town featuring big rock formations and dramatic seaside cliffs.

If you're into great wine, then central France—where you'll find the region of Burgundy—is where you'll want to go. Southwestern France is also a great place for wine tasting, especially the city of Bordeaux, and for enjoying nature at places like Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. In southeastern France, you'll discover everything from antique shops in Montpellier to happening beaches near Nice. The French Alps, which boast some of the best ski resorts in France, are also in the south.

    "Clean, safe hostel in Paris"
We recently stayed in a room with 3 beds and a private bathroom. I felt like the cost was reasonable for the last minute planning we did and for the accommodations. Room was small but adequate since we spent all day out exploring Paris. Staff spoke good English and was very helpful in getting us started on our way. I would recommend this hostel and would stay there again if I go back to Paris.

    "Great hotel and location!!!"
I spent 5 great days at this hotel. The hotel does not have a pool, but does have a beach which you can use for 18 Euros a day which includes, chair, towle and umbrella. The room was very nice and clean. They do not have a restaurant, but there is room service from the restaurant across the street and the food is very good. There is a very nice restuarant (Le Petite Maison)down the street, but it is expensive and snobby! If the waiter thinks you have no money they will treat you like crap so I would skip it. The hotel is close to shopping and Promanade Des Anglais. On Avenue Jean Medecin there is a Monoprix which is a grocery store where you can but sandwiches, soda etc. Good prices if you do not want to spend a fortune. There are a couple of good places on Place Massena for Pizza. I had a great time in Nice and Monte-Carlo. I recommend Gateway Tours for day excursions. I took a 1/2 day one to Nice-Zez-Monte Carlo and enjoyed it. It did fall while strolling through the Garden du Princess Grace and cut himself pretty badly so pay attention while working. My driver took me to his doctor who bandaged me up and sent me on my eay.

"Nice hotel close to the airport"
We had a major problem when I broke my arm. The hotel went beyond the call of duty and arranged for me being taken to the hospital and also assisted in getting my vehicle back to the airport. The receptionist and one of the staff were so kind and we will never forget them.

"Positive stay. Good base of operations"
We ate two delicious lunches in the hotel. Very authentic and dense chocolate mousse was to die for. The waiters were very friendly; reception staff went out of their way to help. Queen-sized mattress was extraordinarily comfortable. Internet in lobby was invaluable for booking day trips.

"Great Location For Disneyland and Paris"
A few steps up from Motel 6 for a Motel 6 price. Very reasonable rate for a comfortable room. Friendliness of the staff was appreciated. Clean lobby, garage, hallways and room. Plenty of dining out nearby, but not that much take out which was as much a cultural thing I think than anything. The worst about it were small issues with the mechanics of the room: the shower drain plug wouldn't open at first, the shower head didn't adjust easily, regular drinking glasses and cereal bowls were not provided, the microwave cabinet door would not stay open, I could not hookup my Apple TV easily to the TV. WiFi login was browser-based and antiquated. I was there for 3 weeks. Had to pay additional for city taxes and parking on arrival which was a surprise (a hotel with no parking lot?!) I got an Annual Pass to Disneyland and was able to use the parking lot for Disneyland to park for the metro station to grab trains into the heart of Paris for sight-seeing there. It was off-season for Disneyland so the park shut down by 9 each night which was disappointing for latenight theme park exploring which I like to do. Will be sure to come during the on-season next time. Very pleasant. quiet community. There's a giant grocery and department store called Auchan in the nearby shopping mall for all of my needs. Blew me away to have an open fish market in a shopping mall, though. Fishy smell and clothing don't go together. Great first time trip to France. Felt safe and taken care of.
