Decent hotel by the Olympia

I had a short stay in London and the hotel is a nice place if you don't mind not being in the center of the city. The good: The hotel is a converted residential building that is very nicely kept. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and updated it felt considering it is an old building The staff is very friendly and did there best to accommodate us even though we checked in around 9am. The room's air conditioning worked very well. We like to sleep in a cold room and we had no isssues there. The room itself was very clean had everything I needed (sink, microwave, TV, iron, etc). It's location is in the middle of Kensington and a stone's throw away from the Olympia convention center. If you don't mind taking the Underground, bus, or Uber into the central London then you shouldn't have a problem. The bad: Being an old building, you can't escape some nuances. Our room was in the first floor and the floor creaked all the time. That was annoying especially when you wake up in the middle of the night and you are trying to not wake up your spouse. Next, the beds and pillows. weren't comfortable as I would have expected. The were lumpy and provide uneven support. Given that the most important reason for going to a hotel is to sleep, this was disappointing. Had it been more comfortable, I would have rated it higher.
