IHG have a standard that the chain insists on for its hotel partners. Rooms are minimalist at best at exhorbitant rates. Carpets are old and stained and the shower show signs of mildew. 3 hangers in mind room for a one week stay. I requested more on 3 occasions and got 0 (zero). The budget iron and the iron board was the only perk I saw. No AC so I had to leave the window open and withstand the street noise all night. Please try to care more about your guests than your bottom line.

Staff walk in to our room,

I booked this hotel expecting a comfortable stay, but my experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We booked a double bed for two, but at check-in the receptionist told us that even though they could see our booking, no double bed was available. They claimed it was “subject to availability,” but I could not find this anywhere in the terms and conditions. Maybe if there is, I accepted it but No advance notice was given either. When we entered the room, several issues became clear: • The card reader for electricity was faulty. • The air conditioning did not work. • The security latch/chain on the door was missing, leaving us feeling unsafe. • The carpet was stained and poorly maintained. The worst incident happened on 30 August 2025 at around 3:35 PM, when a staff member entered our room with a master key without knocking. My partner was in the bathroom at the time, and this invasion of privacy was shocking. The staff member simply said “sorry” and left. This is completely unacceptable — what if I had been undressed or in an intimate moment? This experience left us feeling unsafe, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until they address these serious issues with room maintenance, guest privacy, and overall professionalism

It was a good location for for the excel centre. The only thing thar lwt it down was that the sound proofing was not great. Could hear the road noise and people walk in the corridors. Apart from that everything else was good.

Holiday Inn Express Royal Docklands London

Pull out bed left no room to walk past, breakfast was very poor, coffee machines kept breaking and when they did work it was poor coffee. Staff stood around taking selfies, and pics of each other. Stayed in many Holiday Inn Express many times in many places and have always been very satisfied, but I definitely would not stay in this one again. Blood on the bedding, mould and hair in the bathroom and a dirty used cotton bud left on top of the toilet.

When we arrived at 4 pm a massive queue was waiting to book in. The hotel was short of housekeeping staff and hardly any rooms were ready despite checking in already being open for an hour. No email warning people of this was sent. The room was ok but it was very tired. Rusty sink, dirty shower. The breakfast was poor. Such a small dining area for so many people. Half the food had run out an hour before breakfast ended and the staff were slow to replenish it. I even managed to gain a long black hair in my coffee despite me checking the cup first. Seemed to have come out of the coffee machine with the drink.
