The reception staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are simply old and musty smelling but clean. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom but the coach had seen better days, the cushion was completely gone. The property is old as well, this hotel has been there forever and it shows. The rooms are non smoking but the residents have been in the casino and the casino smells repulsive. But that's what you get in a casino. We just can't deal with cigarette smell any more. Honestly you get what you pay for and the room was the cheapestroom they have. No extra amenities just a room. They don't want you hanging out in your room, they want you in the casino. In many years of going to Laughlin the Pioneer is the only property we had never stayed and now I know why.

Laughlin is one of my go to vacation escape destinations. I have stayed at many of the resorts, but I prefer The New Pioneer because it's layout is like an old school motel style where you can park in front of or very near your room. The Casino is small but accommodating with both old school and modern gaming machines. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are always willing to help. Dining is very good and access to other properties is very easy. Overall, for me who enjoys the river views and access, and the near-by attractions, this is my go to location. My only complaint, Would prefer queen size bed over full size, mainly for the additional length.The King beds are great!
