I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Westgate, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Location: The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore nearby attractions and restaurants. The surrounding area is vibrant and full of life, yet the hotel itself offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. Room: My room was small but clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complimentary bottled water and high-quality toiletries. The view from my window was a partial view of the east river offering a picturesque glimpse of the city skyline. Service: The service at the Westgate was impeccable. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist with any request. They truly made me feel welcome and valued as a guest.

The room was clean and cleaned well every day, the room was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, the location was great, although some might feel it is a block or two too far east, the staff/team could not have been more dependable, helpful and professional- each were real gems .For the price in Manhattan it was just what I’d hoped for. Sure it does not have a lot of extra general amenities but the room was fully kitted out and it all worked and I don’t need a spa etc . Will visit again .

Great location and great stay for a family. We traveled with 2 pre-teen aged kids and everyone loved it. Staff was friendly, area was clean and safe, and the breakfast/coffee/bar area was very convenient on our way out and in each day. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall we had a great stay. It’s a typical old building hotel in NYC. Rooms are a little tight but not terrible. Staff were helpful and very friendly. East two block walk to Grand Central to catch the subway anywhere. My only complaint would be the room temperature regulation. It was very poor. Our room would get up to 78 degrees when it was 30 degrees outside even with the AC on. Had to wake up each night and close or open the window to either warm the room or get it cooler.

Overall a wonderful property with larger rooms than average for NYC. Great neighborhood and comfortable public spaces. It was a little weird they didn’t have recycling or compost available since it’s so common in NYC and they were using a lot of plastic.
