Seven Hotel
"Seven was very well located on the top of the cliff overlooking the pier and close to the cliff lift. It had a private car park at the back. Check in was fine and the staff were helpful and polite. Ashford International Hotel & Spa
"The room was tidy, but in the bathroom there was what looked like fecal matter on the wall next to the toilet, as well as various stains on the shower curtain. There wasnt a bottle opener in the room, which surprised me but wasnt too much of an issue as I asked for one at the bar, I did have to wait ..."

Seasoned travelers appreciate the importance of basing themselves in the right part of town. If you're heading to Kent, have a look at Harrietsham, which is located 7 miles (11 kilometers) to the east of the downtown area.
Knowledgeable travelers know Kent's famous attractions, the Canterbury Cathedral and Leeds Castle. That said, it's worth looking into the Chartwell, another excellent tourist spot.
In Harrietsham, you can book a room at the Days Inn Maidstone, which is just around the corner from the Leeds Castle Golf Course.
If you are exploring Kent and after a room in Harrietsham, you may also like to consider options in our Maidstone hotels guide and Travelocity's Bapchild hotels guide.

"Seven was very well located on the top of the cliff overlooking the pier and close to the cliff lift. It had a private car park at the back. Check in was fine and the staff were helpful and polite. The room was clean and tidy and well equipped. Our room had plenty of hanging space but no drawers or useful shelves for clothes. Tea and coffee provided. My only comment would be the bathroom door opened through the walk in shower which was a bit odd, if someone was in the shower you couldn't really walk in to the bathroom, and the grout/tiles round the base were looking a bit tired and stained. Other than that I really can't fault it. We ate in Aurum in the evening which is a lovely restaurant, maybe a touch expensive for what it was but prices in the south are maybe a bit more than the north of England anyway. The food was good and we had a tasty breakfast there the next day. We would definitely stay there again if we were in Southend area"
