This is very close to being a complete dive hotel. The place is in serious need of rehabilitation. The carpets are dirty, worn, faded, and torn. The wallpaper in my room was coming off the wall. The faucet for the shower was stripped.

The place needs an upgrade and better beds. But over all I was happy with the experience. 8.2 on a scale of 1 to 10.

My wife and I recently spent nearly a week in the Ramada by Wyndham motel on Colfax Avenue in Denver. There was a time when the name ‘Ramada’ was an indicator of at least decent places to stay. In downtown Denver (there is at least one other Ramada) that is not the case. This huge motel seems not to have been renovated since its original construction. The carpet on its staircase from the lobby is filthy and threadbare (the remaining stairs have been recently painted). The breakfast room has a disagreeable odor, and the breakfast itself is bare bones. Similarly, the hallways’ carpets are dingy, and the hallways themselves are cramped and poorly lit. And the neighborhood seemed a bit on the seedy side. Save for our room’s toilet, whose tank leaked into the bowel, which periodically flushed itself, our room was satisfactory—notwithstanding the tattered curtains and the somewhat saggy mattresses. The hotel’s TV had less than 30 available channels. Room service failed to clean our room and replace towels on two occasions, owing to which the manager cancelled our parking fee. Imagine! A MOTEL that normally charges guests $5.00 a day to park their cars! Nonetheless, the motel was totally full. The clientele and staff included people of all races and ethnicities—some of the guests were middle class families who had reserved rooms online. The staff was efficient, albeit a tad curt. Our stay was propitious since the motel is in easy walking distance of National Jewish/St. Joseph

I was very disappointed with the hotel and with one staff member in particular. The hotel was dirty. The water pressure in the shower was lacking. The elevator nearest to our room only worked going down. You couldn't call the elevator from the first floor. The ice machine on our floor didn't work. Now to the very unprofessional and rude "lady" at the front desk. On Friday night (7/6/2018) at 11:30pm I get a call from someone at the front desk. She said I was supposed to be checked out today. I told her no and that originally I was going to stay until Friday but I edited my booking to Saturday instead. She said it still said friday in the system and I will need to pack up and leave immediately. I said to her where am I supposed to go at 11:30pm? I asked her to just charge my card for the extra day. She said that she was sending up security and he will forcibly remove me from my room and then she hung up on me. A few minutes later I called the front desk and a very nice gentleman answered. I explained what happened. He said they will just charge my card for the extra day. That's what I told the lady to do in the first place!!!!!! I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Close to downtown Denver

Pros: Very easy to get to. Had no problem driving to and from the hotel.
Location: It's kind of in a sketchy area, so please don't walk around after dark. But you can grab a cab or Uber and be in the heart of downtown within minutes
The nice thing about this hotel was that we could walk to Coors Field in less than 30 minutes. Very easy and nice walk. Driving to and from the hotel was super easy too, and that is a plus when driving in downtown Denver. However, the itself hotel needs some updating. It's very dark and it smells musty. We only used the elevator twice because it was slow, and not very clean. Plus, we felt like it was going to break on us! Our room was not all that clean. There was trash left on the floor in the vanity area, makeup "trash" left on the counter, and the room did not have a clean smell. We also didn't have a remote control for our tv and it took three phone calls before we finally got one. I have had much quicker service at the MGM in Vegas! We were also a little nervous about walking without our shoes on in the room. Unfortunately, the carpet could use some shampoo or be replaced. But if you are looking for just a place to sleep at night and don't need all the bells and whistles, then this hotel isn't bad.
