It's convenient that Palmdale flights land at Burbank Bob Hope Airport because it's the only airport in Southern California with its own train station. The Amtrak system and Metrolink, a Southern California railroad network, both serve airport travelers at a train station situated just south of the airport. Taxis and shuttle vans can be found on islands in front of the passenger terminal. Rental car services are located in the Rental Car Center, which you can reach by using the elevated walkway that runs beside the valet center in front of the main terminal. All major rental car companies have counters in the Rental Car Center. In addition, several hotels in Palmdale maintain their own shuttle bus network running back and forth from the airport.

The Palmdale area provides many activities for the whole family. For example, the only "musical road" in the U.S. is located in nearby Lancaster. (There's also one near Mount Fuji in Japan.)
