It's time to don a pair of boots and a cowboy hat when you fly into the Calgary International Airport (YYC) in Calgary, Canada. The city is home to the world-famous Calgary Stampede and has become known lovingly as "Cowtown" by the locals. After shopping, stop off downtown to dine at one of the many small cafes in the area that are known for their patio tables where you can sit back and soak up the hustle and bustle of the thriving metropolis.
Transportation from YYC
Passengers arriving on flights to Calgary often search hotels close to the Calgary International Airport for hotel deals. Most local hotels offer free airport transfer services. You can also ride the Allied Downtown Shuttle Service from the airport into the city, which leaves every 30 minutes from the airport. You can purchase tickets directly from the Allied Shuttle counter, which is located at the Arrivals level near Gate C, and the counter is open from 8 a.m. to midnight. The rental car center is located across the street from the terminal building. If you want to take a taxi, go to the taxi counters located at the arrivals level of the airport. The Calgary Transit also provides bus services from the airport into downtown. Head to Bus Bay 7 and 8, which are located across the arrivals level roadway at the airport. The Route 300 Airport BRT is the express bus that will take you directly into downtown Calgary.
