Transportation From BHM
Getting from BHM to downtown after your Birmingham flight lands is a snap. If you rented a car as part of your Birmingham vacation package, the rental car facility is located in sections 1B and 1C of the parking deck. You can pick up your keys at the courtesy counter and jump in your car parked nearby. If you are taking a cab to your final destination, BHM taxi services are located outside the baggage claim on ground level; several independently owned and operated cab companies serve the city and airport. If you’d rather take a shuttle or a limousine, head across the pedestrian walkway from the baggage claim area—just make sure that you secured those services in advance. A public bus runs between BHM and Central Station downtown, and you can catch the Route 20 bus between the rental car facilities and shuttle stands by Parking Lot C. There is not a public transportation counter at BHM, so get your ticket right from the bus driver.
