Book Hotels in Chain of Rocks, MO

"When we booked, we were not told that it was under construction. We booked two rooms as we were on a long road trip. We were not told that one of our rooms was on the floor that was completely torn apart for renovation. No baseboards, holes in the wall, visible water damage, where the baseboards used to be. The rooms were dated. The grout around the bathtub and bathtub faucet was mildewed. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel in my entire life. We booked the Hampton because it was associated with Hilton and thought it would be a decent place to stay for the night while we continued on our travels. We did not shower or have the “hot breakfast that was offered for free. Even from the moment we walked in, the hotel looked nothing like the pictures. Lobby was stark white with all the doors in the hall an institutional beige. Also, we arrived late and had to use the phone to get anybody to let us in the hotel as the lobby was closed. It was just uncomfortable from the moment we entered until the second we left! I even mentioned the next morning when I went downstairs to the person behind the desk that we were upset that we were not told that our floor was under construction and we paid the same amount for both rooms. The people in the other room said it was “OK”, they didn’t have as bad of an experience as we did in our hotel room, but they agreed that they did not feel comfortable & just wanted to leave. We were offered a brief “sorry”. I do have pics/video to share."

"Positive we’re definitely friendly staff. Everything was clean. The bed was super comfortable! Quiet hotel. Lots of parking available. I gave it four stars for several reasons. When I came in to check in there was a line it was 3 PM. Nobody was at the counter. The staff member came up and was kind of rude to the guy waiting and said there’s a doorbell there for you to push so I know you guys are standing here… But given the point that is check-in time you would think she would be more attentive to the front desk. However, the way she spoke to every customer during the process she was very sweet besides the initial impression. The hallway had a funky smell to it, but the room was just fine. The temperature was perfect. I didn’t even bother looking for a thermostat. Did I mention the bed was super comfortable! Being a traveler by myself, I did not feel unsafe for one moment. Breakfast was OK… You had your choice of cereal a Texas claw or biscuits and gravy. I was honestly hoping for waffles. Even in the breakfast area, the staff was checking in on everything to make sure nothing was ever running low and if it was, they immediately filled it again exceptionally clean! I would definitely recommend. Yes it’s a little dated but for the price point, it is great."
