Never Again

Pros: GETTING AWAY FROM IT
Cons: LIFE...life can be improved if you find yourself in a position where this is the only place you can stay...
Location: Roll your windows up....lock your doors....run....go in when the streetlights come on....that type of stuff....oh, and drugs, I'm sure there are drugs
First of all, I was just going to Austin from Dallas to take care of one thing, the rest of the time we planned on wondering around aimlessly and not spending too much time in a room, so we pretty much looked for the cheapest price. These didn't look too bad online, when our Ride Austin driver pulled up I almost just told him to take us back downtown, this place looks so run down....almost looks abandoned... Moving along, I chose the option online to pay when I arrive at the hotel because I just wanted to pay cash...still needed my card info just in case I cancel, I guess....the hotel runs my card info the morning of my reservation, before I even left Dallas...I had pulled my money out of my checking, just in case, so the charge was declined. I go ahead and go inside the office to get our room, since I had already booked, and the manager (owner, whatever he is) comes out and tells me my card was declined, I explain what happened. Then he tells me there is a deposit that I need to pay, huh? I told him there wasn't a deposit mentioned online, he says yes there is, blah blah blah....I ask why the charge that got declined on my card didn't include this deposit, so he tried to negotiate a deposit with me. The person I was looking at definitely looked like the type who would find some reason to keep the deposit, so we left and walked until we found a place that didn't make us feel like we'd be murdered that night...then he ran my card again the next morning....

Hidden Gem

This place is a real gem, especially given its location and price. It's not fancy but it is clean, well-maintained, quiet, and close to the university and less than $10 in a taxi and you're on 6th St. There is a 24 hour cafe across the way called Star Seeds that is excellent as well. Super friendly and accommodating staff. In Austin you can spend a lot more and do much worse. Truly a terrific value!

terrible

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast
Paid for two nights and stayed one. The most terrible experience I have ever had in a Hotel.

"You get what you pay for" but geez!

Stains on the floor and the beds... no toilet paper in the bathroom, only kleenexes? Cockroaches... stayed for 2 nights and came across 4. The staff was great... we even left a Kindle Fire there and they mailed it back to us after the fact, but man... just clean the place up! None of our devices would connect to the "free internet" We kept having to reconnect the ball inside the toilet so it would flush.

Worst Place I've Ever Stayed

Cons: Noisy
Curtains were ripped Lights didn't work Beer Bottle caps on the ground Toliet screamed when flushed Vent above the bathtub leaked water enough to flood the bathroom. Terrible parking People blaring music in the parking lot at 3 in the morning.

I lived through the weekend.

Cons: Noisy
This hotel was ok at best. The room smelled like smoke and there was an ash tray in the bathroom. There was also a bottle opener attached to the bathroom counter. The bed felt like cardboard and the furniture was all ripped up. I didn't spend much time there but I won't be booking this hotel again.
