"New Years in Athens "
Stayed for a week over New Years. Everything from the room, staff, and restaurant left nothing to be desired. The view during the New Years fireworks were spectacular to say the least from the restaurant balcony.

"Acropolis View, Rooftop Pool, & 5-star Comfort"
Awesome Acropolis view from our room (327), from the rooftop pool, and from the restaurant. Nothing beats a swim, good book, and a cold beverage at the end of a day site seeing while gazing across the city. Restaurant at sunset is a showstopper. Food is good and servings small enough so you can enjoy dessert without being stuffed. We will stay here again.

"Close to the Monastariki flea market area"
The view from the rooftop is pretty great, and the staff was all very helpful but the elevator is tiny (only 3 people at a time) which leads to a line in the lobby sometimes. The bed...2 twin beds pushed together does not a queen or king bed make. We kept getting a gap in between which was frustrating, and one of the sides of the pillow had black stuff on it.

"Nice hotel in the "perfect place" in Greece"
Hotel was very nice, with comfortable beds, well kept rooms and with a fantastic swimming pool for cooling off, but lacking in a couple important areas: (1) no hot water in the morning (for me this is a huge hotel faux pas); (2) the late time of check-in (3pm) was frustrating, especially if you're coming from a long day of traveling and have to wait in the lobby for an hour or more until your room is ready; (3) They have this amazing rooftop garden dining area which we were looking forward to eating dinner on in the evening to appreciate the view, but the hotel had rented it out for an event, making it unavailable to hotel guests -- something you can't factor in when making your reservation.

"Cute hotel with great staff!!"
I stayed here for a week, and I really enjoyed my experience. The hotel staff were AWESOME in terms of answering questions and their willingness to help. More than once, they called a tour company or a cab on my behalf and got questions answered so that I was taken care of. I cannot say enough about them! The room was clean and comfortable - the beds could be a *little* softer, but that could be personal preference. Every time I'm in Europe, I think the beds could be a bit softer. lol The rooms were well appointed, and the mini fridge was really helpful for leftovers and snacks. :) While the hotel maybe could use a little updating, it's still very nice and very comfortable! The breakfast they have is very nice considering it comes included with your room fee, and there's a nice spread - meats, cheese, Greek salad, eggs, bacon, and breads. A selection of cereals, teas, coffee, and orange juice. Really, so much more than you might expect. The location is a bit further away from the main areas than I originally thought, so be ready to navigate the bus or a taxi. The taxi to Syntagma Square (central Plaka area) was only about 4-5 Euros, so it's not that much if you choose that. I took a taxi pretty frequently because it was easier for me, and you can catch a cab just a couple of blocks away near the church. If anyone tries to charge you more, argue it. ;) Overall, I'm very happy with the hotel, and will definitely stay here again!

"Great hotel in great location"
Attalos lived up to the reviews on this and other sites. Friendly helpful staff, great location for the Parthenon, the metro and Bairaktaris restaurant. The room and common areas were very clean and the breakfast was good. The rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Why anyone would pay more for a four-star hotel is beyond me. First impression walking from the metro to the hotel was that the area is not super fancy, but the locals are friendly and we never felt unsafe or threatened. Thoroughly recommend the Hotel Attalos and we will definitely stay there on our next trip to Athens.

    Athens Hotel & Travel Guide

Often referred to as "The Birthplace of Democracy," Athens is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after vacation spots in the entire world. There are a variety of cheap hotels in Athens and you'll never be far from history. In addition to the city's historical significance, you'll also encounter some of the best food and nightlife in the world.

    Out and About in Athens

If you land one of Athens hotels near Avissinias Square, you can immediately immerse yourself in the entirety of Athenian culture by visiting this market. You'll find everything from antiques to beautiful custom jewelry. If you snag a necklace portraying your favorite Greek god or goddess, feel free to show it off while visiting the Parthenon or the Acropolis of Athens, then check out the Athens War Museum. Once you've had your fill of ancient ruins and Greek history, head over to the Attica Zoological Park or enjoy a show at the National Theatre of Greece.

    Eating and Drinking

Finding cheap hotels in Athens should be a priority well before you board a plane -- you'll want as much money in your wallet as possible for enjoying the city's dining and beverage options. Bar-hopping is a popular pastime in Athens, so visiting the Rock & Balls, The Underdog, and Ippopotamos in one day won't garner you any judgmental stares. Of course, if you picked out one of the most romantic hotels in Athens, you're likely looking for a similarly romantic dining experience as well. If so, Dionysos By The Acropolis or Spondi will provide you with delicious selections and an ambiance that creates the perfect mood.
