The location of the Plaka Hotel is perfect - with the Plaka neighborhood on one side and Monastiraki on another. The Acropolis view rooms have a stunning view of one of the world's most iconic sites. When we checked in, were greeted in our room with a a jug of cold water, a bottle of wine and an assortment of baklava - lovely! The staff was super-helpful. My family and I stayed a night, then checked out to take an overnight trip to Hydra, and checked back in the next day. They allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel no questions asked. They provided information when needed and arranged for an airport transfer for us. The breakfast buffet was lovely; the rooms were clean (with a great shower), and the hotel is well-kept. The only downsides - 1) The rooftop bar could use a bit of sprucing up. The view is fabulous, but the seating is pretty drab. It seems like a missed opportunity for something really special. 2) The elevator is really small. So if you have lots of bags, getting up and down when things are busy, requires a a few extra minutes. Plan accordingly, and it isn't a problem. I would absolutely stay there again.

3 min walk to train station, good view, breakfast was varied many choices including gluten free items. Rooms is on the smallish side.
