"I was disappointed with the front desk at my check in time. I arrived around a little bit after noon on the date of my reservation and asked about checking in early and was told no rooms would be available for about 45 minutes. Totally understandable but was directed to the restaurant which was open and we could grab some lunch. This sounded like a good option, and we proceeded to have lunch. After having lunch, I returned to the desk to check in and was now informed I would need to pay an additional $30 for early check in. It is not about the money, but this should have been addressed before directing me to your restaurant for lunch. I will say the second individual I spoke with was not the same as the individual who directed me to the restaurant. However, the attitude of this second individual was arrogant and straight forward, as he stated, this is our policy. Nothing to the effect of I am sorry for the misunderstanding, just a black and white this is our policy, take it or leave it. My wife and I chose to take the afternoon shopping around town and returned later to check in at the appropriate time. I am not sure we will return to the Skirvin, such a beautiful property, but I can spend my money with another property where my business would be better appreciated."
