Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB
"Excellent room, the staff was amazing, food from blaze was terrible, it’s sad that the pizza dough was so wet it broke apart. For the price you paid for a large pizza, shrimp and grits and a garlic mash, plus the delivery and 20% gratuity it was over a hundred dollars. Someone needs to reevaluate ..."

Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa
"Amenities close to early. Spa at 5? Hot tub at 10. I booked my wife a facial and massage from 11-2 on the day we were checking out. I called and asked for a late checkout to accommodate her spa schedule. The front desk told me they had people checking in that afternoon and could not help. Well, the ..."

"Everyone at the hotel was wonderful. Staff was great. We stayed multiple days and housekeeping could’ve been a little bit better and it stunk that the food had to come from the Sheraton. I believe the hotel here was under repair. Will definitely book again."

"What a fantastic gem to find in Birmingham! Beautiful lobby, delicious food, a spa and convenience. But as always, when traveling, it’s the staff that make the difference. "This was my first time staying at this particular hotel brand. I came in for a conference at the BJCC which the drive from the hotel was not bad (9mins). Room was clean. Room temperature is controlled by the front desk which was something different that I never experienced at a hotel. I only had ..."

Red Roof Inn Birmingham South
"I would like to rate the place higher because the property is pretty nice, but my room absolutely stank of weed. Aside from that... 1) the room is well equipped and modern 2) no breakfast bar or restaurant, and there is not much nearby (the only places you can walk to are on the other side of a four-lane highway) 3) they charge for early check-in, but will let you do the paperwork (including picking your room) at no charge if you arrive early and don't actually move into the room until the specified time 4) front desk staff is polite and helpful 5) there is a pool but it was not open in mid-May Assuming the weed smell was a fluke (since it actually got worse through the night, it might have been people lighting up outside), the property is a good, basic place with a comfortable room at a reasonable price. Just plan to arrive fed and get your breakfast along the road in the morning."
