Transportation from MTJ
You can find several lodging options just south of MTJ in the center of Montrose, or drive to Telluride the same day to find many more hotels in Telluride itself. Travelers landing on Telluride flights have a number of ways to access Telluride. There are several on-site rental car agencies, but renting a vehicle is, generally, not recommended, as Telluride is quite small and pedestrian-friendly. Having a car in town may be more of a hindrance than anything. Luckily, there are several shuttle agencies to choose from if your hotel isn't one of the many that offer complimentary transportation from the airport.
