The AC was hard to operate and I think the filter needs to be cleaned. When I woke up the room smelled like stale food. Also, the vinyl flooring needs a good moping. I spilled water by the bedside and when I wiped it up the paper towel was black.

Everything about this place was great. The room, the staff and the location. If you’re more into being where all the action is and you’re not into walking this might not be your place. But I liked that it was a little away from the touristy stuff.

to begin with, we were greeted by a lovely host named Josh who was so welcoming and accommodating as he checked us in, offering us complementary wine and cookies and suggestions for nearby walkable restaurants and attractions not to be missed. the property is quiet and quaint just a half block from the beachfront with ample off street parking just below the rooms or safe street parking if capacity is full. our room was modernly decorated and well appointed with a mini fridge, microwave and even tea kettle which is rarely found these days in rooms. although we didn’t need to use it, the fireplace was a nice additional feature to see. we will definitely keep Blue Sands saved as a favorite to return to should we find ourselves in Santa Barbara again!

We were greeted with the most welcoming front desk, our door was wrapped in Christmas ribbons, the room was adorable, we were served hot chocolate chip cookies, and crossed the street for a walk on the beach! What could be better? We'll definitely be coming back!
