We stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort for two nights, paying over $500 per night, largely because of the stunning infinity pool overlooking Patong Beach — which is one of the property’s main selling points.
Unfortunately, on our second day the pool was closed as early as 3:00 PM due to a private Valentine’s event organized by the hotel. As paying guests, we were the ones who ended up bearing the inconvenience, losing access to the very facility we chose this hotel for. We were not informed about this in advance, neither during booking nor at check-in.
When we approached the staff to request a partial refund or appropriate compensation for the disruption to our stay, the response felt dismissive. We were offered a coupon for a soft drink, which was completely inadequate considering the price we paid and the impact on our experience.
Hosting private events is understandable, but it should not come at the expense of hotel guests without prior notice or fair compensation — especially at this price level. For a premium property under an international brand, we expected much better service, transparency, and guest care.
Very disappointing experience.
